How to install OS remix. How to install Remix OS on your computer

26.07.2021

Hello everyone. Recently learned about the operating system Remix OS built on Android.

Interesting enough system optimized for laptops and PCs. There is a windowed mode, that is, you can open programs in windows, and not like in Android, in which you need to switch between them.

Of course the system Remix OS still raw, I hope that it will be brought to mind. 🙂 For example, due to some games, the system completely freezes, only restart helps. Maybe this is due to the incompatibility of applications, or maybe because of the windowed mode.

Remix OS installed on a USB 3.0 flash drive and can be used from any PC, just boot from it, and not from hard disk... All data (downloaded applications, etc.), the system also stores on a USB flash drive.

Personally, I recorded the system on a 2.0 flash drive, the write and read speed of which is 25 - 20 MB / s - this is quite enough. And it won't boot Remix OS from a flash drive with a write speed of less than 10mb / s. So, you can try recording on 2.0, she herself will say whether the flash is suitable or not. 🙂

Well, now let's get down to business and put Remix OS as a second system:
1. We need EasyBCD and EaseUS Partition Master, download them here TYK TYK
3. We download the system itself from the official site TYK
5. We take out the file from the archive, or rather the image of the system.

Using the EaseUS Partition Master program, we edit the partition from which we want to take at least 16GB.
- Select the partition from which we want to take 16GB and click "Change / Move Partition", reduce it so that the unallocated space remains 16 gigs

- Now we click on "unoccupied" and create a partition, in the "Name" write REMIX OS, "File system" - FAT32

- Click "Apply" and get your 16GB partition.

Now you need to extract the files from the image itself, onto the created section. This can be done with the 7-Zip or WinRAR archiver.

Open EasyBCD, click "Add entry": in the column "Removable / external media" - select the "ISO" tab, in the "Name" field write "REMIX OS", in the "Path" select the image of our system (from which files were dropped into the section ) and click add. By the way, you cannot delete and move the image (the system will not start), so it is better to drop it into the created section too.

    We will create a section by standard Windows tools through disk management.

    To go to disk management:

    1 ... Go to " Control Panel» -> « System and safety»;

    Create a section

    1 ... If you have two or more logical drives, right-click the one with the most free space and click the " Shrink volume"If you have only one section C:, then the choice is not great, we squeeze it.

    Everything is ready, now we proceed to the stage of pre-installing Remix on the computer.

    • Improved usability of multiple windows and others key functions
    • Other improvements

    Remix OS is a Linux distribution kit that allows you to install Android OS on your computer. The system uses the code base of the project Android-x86 but has its own appearance and organization of elements.

    The developers have provided support for the Google Play app store, which means users have full access to apps that are available to regular Android users. Not all of them will be able to start, because not all applications support mouse control, but most applications should work correctly.

    This Linux distribution runs on Intel computers and some Mac OS machines. It is under active development and testing.

    Remix OS supports dual booting - users should have no problem installing on computers with the operating system already installed, even in UEFI environments.

    The developers have also compared the performance of Remix OS on modern computers with the most powerful mobile devices. Remix OS outperforms the most modern flagships three times.

    Another interesting feature of Remix OS is the ability to install on a USB stick, preferably with USB 3.0 support, and use it on the go.

    Remix OS is free to download, install and use. Just like the Android-x86 project, Remix OS is licensed under the GPLv3 license, although some proprietary code is the property of Google.

    The system can be used on less powerful hardware, such as an old computer or laptop, and Remix OS will continue to outperform mobile devices.

    * How to install the Russian language of the system

    • Click on the Menu in the lower left corner of the screen and select Settings or double-click on the Settings icon on the desktop
    • Personal> Language & Input
    • Language
    • Select the desired language (Russian)

    This year, there is a new operating system called Remix OS - an alternative version of Android. It is used not on, but on personal computers. In fact, this is the same Android, but in a full-fledged form. Moreover, the platform can be downloaded and installed for free by any user.

    The platform is available for download free of charge

    Let's take a closer look at Remix OS and what it takes to install and use the system on your computer.

    What is Remix OS?

    The first time you start, you will see a regular desktop in front of you, like that of the Android system, with a side notification menu and a bottom line where the date, network icon, pinned program shortcuts are displayed - everything is like Windows.

    There is also a Start menu, but it looks like a list where the logo of the programs and their names are located below them. It is worth mentioning that when installing Remix OS, there are no services from Google in the initial set, so they need to be installed separately.

    On the Start menu, you'll find a browser, clock, calculator, file manager, video player, settings, and a few more. Video and audio files are played normally, there are no discrepancies with the drivers. Naturally, the system can work in a multi-window mode - this possibility is already available in some mobile devices on Android.

    We should also note the work of third-party programs in Remix OS - they are not always displayed correctly. The same text editors, which seem to be native programs, can crash or freeze. This can be attributed to the fact that the system is still a little crude and will be improved. The same applies to games - it is not a fact that they will be played on this system.

    However, Android games will display correctly, and in this case, installing this system will be an excellent solution if the games developed for Windows are too heavy for your computer.

    The main thing is that sound, video, mouse and familiar keyboard shortcuts work correctly, you don't need to worry about compatibility with drivers. Installing Remix OS is not difficult, but we will look at how to do it later.

    How to install Remix OS and what is needed for this?

    The first version of Remix OS worked exclusively through and was not installed on a computer's hard drive. There are no special requirements for installing the platform, on the contrary, it can be a salvation for outdated PCs that are difficult to digest new versions of Windows.

    Later, a version was released that can be installed on a hard drive, but first we will look at how to install Remix OS via a USB flash drive.

    To do this, you need to do the following:

    That's all! Now you can start using Remix OS fully.

    How to install Remix OS on HDD?

    Previously, for this it was necessary to perform all sorts of manipulations, but in the new version of Remix OS it can be installed on a hard disk in the same program that is used to create a bootable USB flash drive, therefore, the system requirements indicate the need to use a USB 3.0 drive with a volume of at least 8 GB ...

    You need to download the archive from the official website of the manufacturer in the same way, unpack it, run the application for recording the image, but specify your hard drive as the drive.

    Moreover, when recording new version Remix OS, you install it in parallel with the existing Windows system - at the first boot, the computer will give you a choice of what to load. Select Remix OS, after which the installation process will begin: space will be created for the platform in the amount of 8 GB, then it will be written to disk.

    As already mentioned, the system does not have pre-installed services from Google. To install them under the name GMS Installer on any of the sites you trust, then install and run it, agreeing to the offer to add Google Play services to your computer.

    After that, you need to go to the Settings menu, go to Applications, then Manage Applications and All, where you will select Clear Data for the Play Services and Service Framework utilities. All changes will take effect after restarting the PC.

    As you can see, the platform is easy to install, after which you can change the English language to Russian to make the interface "native" and understandable. The alternative system Remix OS will surely find its own wide range of users, especially those who like Android. It is gradually being improved and may well be used right now on home computers or laptops.

    Remix OS is an operating system that is Android with a slightly modified graphical shell. The changed interface allows you to comfortably work with it on desktop devices using a mouse and keyboard. The developers did a good job on organizing the interface elements and even added a full-fledged Play Market to the system. You can log in to it under your account and download any applications. Remix OS is potentially capable of running almost all existing applications, but not all of them support mouse control. When working on modern computers, the system will provide the performance of mobile games and programs at the level of "flagship" portable devices.

    The undoubted advantage of Remix OS is that it works great as a second (or third) operating system on a computer. The 64-bit distribution even supports the UEFI environment (32-bit - Legacy only). To install the "operating system" there is no need to use a USB flash drive; complete with the image you will receive a special application that will copy the installation data to your hard drive and allow you to proceed with the installation immediately after restarting your computer. Remix OS is also quite good at "getting" into virtual machines.

    Itself operating system and all future updates for it, according to the developers, will be completely free. So anyone can try this creation. Installing and uninstalling Remix OS takes a matter of minutes.

    Key features and functions

    • convenient graphical shell that will allow you to work with the operating room Android system using a mouse and keyboard;
    • full-fledged Play Market from which you can download and run applications;
    • low consumption of system resources;
    • UEFI support;
    • a tool to install the operating system without using a USB drive (installation files are copied to disk).

    Special Requirements

    • 2 GHz processor;
    • 2 GB of RAM;
    • 8 GB of free hard disk space.

    Android users appreciate this operating system for its simplicity and versatility at the same time. But imagine that it would be possible to use Android as the main system for your computer or laptop. It would be nice to be able to download and install your favorite apps and games not on mobile devices, but on ordinary computers.

    As a result, you will be taken to the list of files to download. Put the checkbox in front of the item " I am a developer and have read the above message"And press the button" Download". The list contains links to 2 archives, depending on the type of download: Legacy and EFI... Legacy is compatible with most computers, therefore it is recommended to download this particular archive.

    How to install Remix OS on a USB stick?

    After downloading, unpack the resulting archive. It will contain an ISO image of the system and a tool for burning Remix OS to a USB stick.

    Run Remixos OS Usb Tool, specify the location for the ISO file, select the USB drive, and click OK.

    After finishing the recording process, you can try to load Remix OS. To do this, you need to restart the computer and boot from the USB flash drive, specifying the boot sequence in the BIOS or using the F8-12, Esc keys, depending on the manufacturer of the laptop or computer.

    If you are unable to boot from a flash drive recorded with the Remixos OS Usb Tool, use any program for burning ISO images to USB drives, such as UltraISO.

    In conclusion, I would like to say that Remix OS is just beginning its journey, and like any other operating system will have flaws, problems with hardware compatibility, etc. But the developers promise to regularly release updates to fix bugs and ensure proper system security.
