Chinese tablets with retina screen. Review of Apple iPad mini with Retina display

23.09.2020

The high-resolution display is convenient and wonderful, you don't need to convince anyone of this: they don't argue with facts. This is well understood not only by world famous brands, but also by smaller manufacturers. Earlier we looked at an inexpensive high-resolution tablet from iconBIT - the NetTAB Space III model. In addition to the display itself, there was little good in it - the gadget frankly slowed down and, in general, did not work very smoothly. The reason for this was a weak dual-core processor, which is not powerful enough to quickly render images on a high-definition screen. What about the 3Q tablet? Let's learn from this material.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - factory box

The device comes in a large yellow box made of thick cardboard. By its dimensions, it is clear that the tablet has a rich package bundle. Indeed, we found the following accessories inside the box:

 • 3 A charger;
 • A microfiber cloth for cleaning the screen;
 • Droplet headphones with microphone;
 • USB cable ↔ microUSB for data transfer;
 • USB ↔ microUSB (OTG) cable for connecting peripheral devices;
 • SIM-card of the operator "Beeline" with a month of free Internet access;
 • Printed user manual and warranty card.

For devices belonging to the mid-price category, such a generous bundle is the exception, not the rule. The buyer only has to buy a cover to his taste - and use the tablet to the fullest.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - package content

The habit of compact seven- or eight-inch "tablets" at first makes it difficult to take the large 3Q q-pad RC9727F seriously - we have to remember with sadness that "full-size" tablets, by definition, weigh a lot. However, the dimensions of the device - within the framework of the genre - are not frightening at all: the thickness of the case is 9.5 millimeters, and the weight is just over six hundred grams.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - front panel

The front panel of the tablet does not contain any physical buttons. All control keys appear at the right time on the screen. At the top of the panel is the lens of a 2-megapixel webcam. The bezel around the display is quite wide - it fits the thumbs of both hands without any problems, regardless of the orientation in which the tablet is held.

3Q q-pad RC9727F full face

The layout of the controls is non-standard. The volume keys are at the bottom, and the power button is at the bottom of the left side. Thus, to use the buttons in portrait orientation, you have to reach for them with your left hand, which is not very convenient. However, if you flip the tablet 180 °, the keys will be in their usual places - next to the fingers of the right hand. All available interfaces - a power connector, a micro-USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, mini-HDMI 1.3, and connectors for a full-size SIM card and microSD card - are placed on the same left edge. This is, perhaps, convenient: once remember that "everything is on the left" - and you will not have to get confused anymore.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - the packing density of all interfaces on the side panel is high

The back of the tablet is made of aluminum. It houses the lens of the main 5-megapixel camera, a hole that hides the microphone, and a slot for the speakers. The side faces of the gadget are plastic. The corners are very well rounded - the palms do not suffer from them.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - back panel and sides

The build quality is quite decent. When the sides are squeezed, there are no squeaks of the case or colored spots on the screen - the design has sufficient rigidity.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - speaker on the back

The external speaker has a good volume reserve and more or less detailed sound. Low frequencies do not wheeze, and high frequencies do not squeak.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - screen

The display in the tablet is unusual for the mid-range. The fact is that the resolution of the 9.7-inch display installed in the 3Q q-pad RC9727F is very high - 2048x1536 pixels, the pixel density reaches 263 ppi. For a tablet PC, this is more than enough value for comfortable work: individual pixels are visible only if you bring the device to your eyes, but in real use this is not necessary. Text on the tablet screen looks very smooth, while movies and photos are detailed. The picture is similar in character to high-quality printing.

The matrix is IPS, and from a breed of better quality (otherwise it also happens that it is like IPS - but it's still sad). The viewing angles are excellent - the colors do not "float" even if the gaze deviates from the normal. The screen responds quickly and accurately to touch, recognizes gestures and supports up to five simultaneous touches.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - AnTuTu MultiTouch Test results

The stock of brightness is rather big: the luminosity of the white field reaches 254 cd / m2. This is enough for any conditions of use, except that in direct sunlight the display fade noticeably. The luminosity of the black field is low (in this case, less is better) - about 0.4 cd / m2. Blacks look deep and natural even at maximum brightness. The contrast of the display is 635: 1 - not the ultimate dream, but quite good for an inexpensive tablet.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - tablet screen color gamut (black triangle) versus sRGB space (white triangle)

The color gamut of the 3Q q-pad RC9727F screen is somewhat narrower than the sRGB space - green and red are a little less than ideal. However, the shape of the triangle is close to correct, which means that the color reproduction is quite believable. Indeed, watching movies and photographs, reading electronic documents, browsing websites on the tablet display is a pleasure.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - information about the system and "hardware"

The stone heart of the device is the Rockchip RK3188 system-on-a-chip, which hit the market in the second quarter of 2013. In its arsenal there are four ARM Cortex-A9 processor cores, operating at 1.6 GHz, and a quad-core Mali-400 MP4 graphics system. The chip is manufactured at GlobalFoundries factories using an advanced 28 nm SLP process technology (using HKMG technology). The tablet has two gigabytes of DDR3 RAM (the manufacturer does not specify which type of DDR3) and 16 GB of built-in flash memory, expandable with Micro-SD memory cards.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - Quadrant 2 Standard test results

In everyday tasks, the 3Q q-pad RC9727F practically does not slow down - the device tries to smoothly display the animation of the operating system and switch between applications. True, this does not always work with a tablet: for everything to be fine, you should control the number of open applications and close unnecessary ones (however, this is always the case in Android).

You shouldn't count on launching resource-intensive toys - because of the high resolution of the display, “heavy” programs noticeably slow down. The processor is powerful, but for fast rendering of pictures, a display of this resolution needs something even more productive. However, here again the price should be remembered.

The 3Q q-pad RC9727F has a fairly rich set of communications. The device supports Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / b. Both interfaces work flawlessly. With the help of the "blue tooth", musical compositions without "scratches" were broadcast to wireless headphones. The tablet easily connects to public Wi-Fi hotspots, and in the home network it developed an average reception speed of about four and a half megabits per second - more than enough for a comfortable Internet experience.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - OOKLA SpeedTest results on home Wi-Fi network

The nicest feature of the tablet is the built-in 3G modem, with which you can stay in touch even while away from home. Full format SIM cards are used. 3Q q-pad RC9727F keeps the connection to the network stably and does not break it for no apparent reason. Unfortunately, there is no GPS module in the device - orientation on the terrain is available only via mobile networks.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - AnTuTu Battery Test results

The gadget runs on a lithium-polymer battery of 29.6 Wh (8000 mAh, 3.7 V) - the capacity is high enough even for a "full-size" tablet. In the AnTuTu profile test, the device scored 673 points, discharging from 100% to 19% in 3 hours 10 minutes. The result is not bad, especially considering the "gluttony" of this test. Under moderate loads, the tablet battery lasts for a day of use without charging - fortunately, in standby mode, the device practically does not consume energy. To extend the battery life, simply lower the display backlight level.

3Q q-pad RC9727F - main camera

The set of cameras on the tablet is quite modest - the main one, five-megapixel, without a flash, and the front, two-megapixel. The cameras do not have an automatic focusing system. In addition, both cameras can only be used in conditions of sufficient lighting - otherwise the noise level is off scale. Of course, you should only take pictures with the main camera of the tablet if there is nothing more suitable for photography at hand. The viewfinder interface is standard for the Android operating system.

Sample photos

The tablet runs on a fairly modern version of the Android operating system - 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which comes in full version, without any abbreviations. The set of firmware is limited to its standard applications without any additions from the manufacturer.

⇡ Conclusion

The 3Q has turned out to be a very interesting, balanced tablet, with the price-performance ratio outweighed by the buyers. The advantages of the device include the following:

 • good high resolution display;
 • modern quad-core processor;
 • built-in 2G / 3G modem;
 • low cost.

However, we must not forget about the shortcomings. They are not critical, but you should definitely know about them:

 • graphics performance is not enough for "heavy" games in native resolution;
 • lack of GPS and / or GLONASS module;
 • weak rear camera.

The recommended retail price of the 3Q q-pad RC9727F at the start of sales is, so we are quite ready to recommend the tested tablet to people who prefer e-books and watching movies to games and "heavy" applications.

Today the market is literally inundated with budget tablets. To attract a buyer, you need to have a zest, but you don't need to be original at all. bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G doesn't just look like iPad mini. This tablet also uses a screen from an Apple device. To what extent is this approach to design and components capable of attracting a user in 2014?

We got our hands on two versions of the tablet of the Russian brand bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G. They are no different from each other except for the processor and the color of the front panel. One has a dual-core (model TM859G), and the other has a quad-core (TM859B). Well, there will be an opportunity to find out exactly what advantages two additional cores give to a modern mobile processor.

In general, the impressions from the first acquaintance with bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G are rather unusual. Imagine that you really wanted to buy the first iPad mini, but you did not have enough money. You've saved up, but Apple has already released the next generation of tablets, and your lust has disappeared from the shelves. And then the seller makes you a unique offer: buy almost the same thing, but on the basis of Android and half the price, and even with the ability to make voice calls!

Design

As you already understood, bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G really wants to be iPad mini. The tablet uses the same screen as the Apple device. This is not only about the matrix, but also about the aspect ratio of 4: 3. Therefore, bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G is more "boxy" than other Android tablets.

The design of the gadget is minimalistic and in the spirit of Apple. The screen is framed by a frame that is thicker at the top and bottom, but the lack of a proprietary button, which was a certain accent of the front panel, confuses.

The speaker cutout, which contrasts with the glossy surface, destroys harmony in the upper part of the bezel. In short, you can immediately see that this is not an iPad, but the differences are not so great that Apple's lawyers could not sue the manufacturer if they wanted to. However, bb-mobile clearly does not pretend to be Samsung's laurels, so Cupertino, most likely, will not even know what their design has been turned into. Moreover, another 2-3 others russian B-brands they exploit exactly the same design - the differences lie in the logos printed on the case.

The back panel is visually divided into two unequal parts: a large metal surface and a narrow matte strip, under which the card slots are hidden. Overall, the back is better and more iPad-like than the bezel.

Of course, some disharmony in the design of the tablet can be seen when you compare it to the iPad mini. Apple did better, after all. It is difficult to spoil Apple's design, therefore, without reservations, Techno 7.85 3G itself is very beautiful and elegant. We liked the white color better, but the tablet is also offered in dark colors. At the same time, the user does not have much choice in terms of color: the white tablet has a quad-core processor, the black one has a dual-core, and nothing else.

Connectors and controls

Since we are dealing with an Android device, you will not find a single hardware button on the front panel. They are made virtual and integrated into the operating system interface. From the authors of the review I would like to immediately express gratitude to the creators of the tablet for the separate button "take a screenshot".

Above the display is a video communication camera and a speaker cutout.

The top end is rounded. It has a headphone jack, a microUSB connector and a screen on / off button. The latter is too smooth and does not have a very long stroke, so turning on the display is not very convenient. In addition, with the next replacement of the SIM-card, it almost flew out, which negatively affected the assessment of the build quality. There are still claims, although they do not relate to the appearance.

Below is only a microphone.

The left side panel is clean of connectors and controls.

On the right are two volume buttons. They protrude above the body of the tablet and are easy to grope, but the impression from them is not the best due to insufficiently clear fixation and the material - light plastic. It is suspected that the buttons can easily break.

On the back of the tablet is the main camera. It is located too close to the edge in the upper left corner of the device. It is easy to cover it with your finger while shooting. However, there is no perfect place for it on modern devices. Wherever it is, it is still easy to close it and, of course, it will happen at the right time.

At the bottom of the back of the tablet are also two stereo speaker grilles.

The top white strip is a plastic cover. It is pry off with a fingernail in one of the corners and can be easily removed. Under it are slots for a memory card and a SIM card. The tablet has a 3G module. For more information on how to insert a SIM card and microSD card, our short video will tell:

In general, Techno 7.85 3G is quite convenient. The controls are easily accessible. I would like to note that it is a little wide, so it is somewhat inconvenient to hold it with one hand. When you need to press the hardware button, you need to grab it with your other hand so as not to drop it.

Contents of delivery

Both tablets arrived in almost square low-profile boxes, finished in brown and gray. Most of all, they resemble boxes for sweets or pizzas in size. The cardboard is very high quality. In a word, the appearance of the packaging corresponds to an expensive product.

A thin foam rubber is glued on the back of the lid. It is designed to protect the tablet display during transport.

In addition to the tablet, the package includes a suede-like synthetic fabric cover, a USB cable, a charger, an adapter for a USB host (allows you to connect a flash drive, mouse, keyboard), a headset and a cleaning cloth for the screen. In addition, there is also a protective film that is immediately glued to the screen.

In general, the scope of delivery is good. It has the necessary accessories that you always forget to buy.

A more complete picture of the bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G tablets will allow us to make our video review:

Screen

The display is one of the strengths of the Techno 7.85 3G. Display resolution 1024x768 pixels. At the same time, the dot density is not very high - 163 ppi. The 4: 3 aspect ratio is somewhat unusual on Android, but it becomes clear when you find out that the tablet uses the first generation iPad mini screen. Accordingly, the user receives bright, saturated colors, a clear picture, in a word - everything that IPS matrices are famous for.

The screen is bright enough to work in any light. He has maximum viewing angles. The touchscreen surface of the display responds well to touch. There are no trigger delays. However, as the test shows, it recognizes only five touches, and not ten, which can be considered the norm today.

The protective film is immediately glued to the screen, which suggests that it is not protected by Gorilla Glass or analogs, but has an easily scratched plastic surface.

Now let's turn to the measurement data. The white brightness of the 2-core bb-mobile Techno is 396.99 cd / m 2, while the 4-core has 395.76 cd / m 2. White brightness - 0.48 cd / m2 for two tablets, contrast - 827: 1 and 824: 1, respectively. Quite good performance for tablets of this price level. The picture should be very contrasting and read well even in fairly bright light.

The color temperature of a 2-core tablet is slightly higher than that of a 4-core tablet. In general, the schedule is fairly flat. At 20-90% brightness, the color temperature is around 7500K. The display will only be slightly chilly, but overall this is a good result.

The color gamut of tablets is slightly different. In principle, it is quite good, but it does not completely cover the sRGB space. The result is good, but not great.

Gamma curves for tablets are also different. The 2-core curve noticeably, although not critically deviates from the reference, but the 4-core curve is almost on par with the reference. Still, some overexposure of shades can be observed in two tablets. In a 2-core, they will be more noticeable.

In principle, the display of the bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G is good, but perhaps the statement that it is exactly the same as that of the iPad mini would be an exaggeration. Most likely we are dealing with a "rejection" - a screen that for some reason was not adopted for the iPad mini. Or, which is also possible, the tablet got the remnants of the first generation of Apple mini-tablets, which became irrelevant after the release of the second version with a Retina screen.

Camera

The tablet has two cameras. The front 2 megapixel resolution is designed for video calling. Its image quality is mediocre. The main camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels.

The size of the tablet screen allows for convenient placement of camera controls.

On the left are the buttons quick choice shooting modes: landscape, HDR, panorama, smile, etc.

On the right are two large buttons: video and photo. This solution is not very convenient, because sometimes your finger falls into the wrong place: instead of a video, you take one frame and vice versa.

In the lower right corner there is a button for calling detailed settings. The camera allows you to set geotags, exposure correction, overlay color effects, and select white balance.

The camera allows you to change the light sensitivity, adjust face detection, improve the appearance of the skin, there is a self-timer and continuous shooting function.

The camcorder can record clips with and without sound. Increase the recording speed for a slow motion effect.

The front camera has about the same range of settings as the main one, but many shooting modes are not available.

Both cameras support 4x digital zoom and finger-press focus area selection.

The quality of taking photos with the main camera is average, but only in good low-contrast lighting conditions.

The video, although it has high resolution Full HD, lacks clarity. And the colors look somewhat unnatural.

The front camera, despite the declared 2 megapixels, is intended only for video communication. Even for a self-portrait to a phone book, this is not the best choice - the quality is extremely mediocre.

The same can be said about the video, which, by the way, is filmed only in VGA-resolution 640x480.

Specifications

The characteristics of bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G are quite acceptable for modern budget-level tablets. Of course, it would be logical to compare Techno 7.85 3G with the prototype - iPad mini, however, the price difference between these devices is very large, so it is best to compare it with its classmate -. The tablet from the eminent brand is sold in the same price range, but has a stripped-down functionality.

2-core bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G

Both Techno 7.85 3G variants are based on budget 1.2 GHz MediaTek processors. It should be noted that the white model has a MediaTek MT8389 quad-core chip, and the black one has a MediaTek MT8312 dual-core chip. Processors differ not only in the number of cores, but also in the graphics module.

4-core bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G

The MediaTek MT8389 uses PowerVR graphics, while the MediaTek MT8312 uses the standard Mali-400 MP from ARM. The same applies to.

It can be expected that the former will have an advantage not only due to the number of cores but also the quality of the graphics system. Compared to the HP Slate 7, we find the same ARM Cortex-A9 architecture. HP did not name the processor model, but it can be assumed that the same MediaTek is installed in the Slate 7. The only fundamental difference is the higher frequency of 1.6 GHz for each of the two cores.

Both Techno 7.85 3G have the same storage capacity. A gigabyte of RAM should be more than enough for modern Android. It is hoped that it will slow down somewhat less. 8 GB of user memory, of which only 4 GB is available, is not so little, considering that Navitel Navigator is preinstalled on the tablet, and, for example, the map of Russia has a size of 1.29 GB. If you intend to use the tablet as a car navigator, it is best to insert a memory card. The HP Slate 7 has the same amount of RAM and flash drive.

The tablets have a complete set of wireless modules. Unfortunately, bb-mobile only reveals the Wi-Fi specifications - 802.11 b / g / n. The version of Bluetooth, as well as the third generation communication module, has not been reported. The same can be said for the HP Salte 7.

The Techno 7.85 3G screen, of course, outperforms its rival - IPS-matrix and higher resolution. However, the resolution is very relative here - the HP Slate 7 has an aspect ratio of 16: 9, which simply obliges it to have a resolution of 1024x600.

Techno 7.85 3G is much more attractive than the HP Slate 7 in terms of functionality. The tested tablets have 3G, GPS, and FM-tuner, which the American state employee cannot boast of. Also, bb-mobile is a bit thinner.

The battery capacity of Techno 7.85 3G is quite large, however, this does not mean anything if you do not compare the power consumption, which, judging by the display of the Bb-mobile tablets, may turn out to be higher.

Testing

We will compare both bb-mobile tablets with the already mentioned HP Slate 7.

In the overall Quadrant Benchmark, we celebrate the victory of the 4-core bb-mobile, in second place - HP Slate 7, in the third - 2-core bb-mobile. Basically, you would expect this by looking at the specifications of the tablets. However, if you start to understand the package tests in detail, you will find that in the performance test the HP CPU with a higher frequency yielded to the slower 2-core bb-mobile. The situation is also observed in tests for three-dimensional graphics, but in terms of working with memory and storage, two-dimensional graphics HP is the best. At the same time, the 4-core Techno 7.85 3G is the worst in the memory test.

The Rightware BrowserMark browser test repeats the situation of the previous test.

Lingpack is also quirky. In the multi-threaded test, a 4-core tablet comes first, but the HP Slate 7 with a 2-core 1.6 GHz chip performs worse than a similar 2-core bb-mobile with a frequency of 1.2 GHz.

Graphical tests give exactly the opposite results. In both electopia and Nenamark 2, the HP Slate 7 takes the first place. In RD 3D it lost to the 2-core bb-mobile. Apparently its graphics chip is still more powerful than the two copies of the iPad mini. Interestingly, in the Quadrant Benchmark it was worse than theirs in 3D graphics. But the great thing is that 4 cores don't give the white Techno 7.85 3G an advantage. In other words, not all games are yet capable of using the multiple cores of modern mobile processors.

As a result, we can say that the tablets have some parity in the tests. There is no clear winner, but we can say that 4 cores are not always better than 2.

In terms of battery life, the tablets show approximately the same result. Formally, the first is the 4-core Techno 7.85 3G. After our standard load, simulating moderate daily activity, the user has 65% charge left. In general, all test participants have very good results.

Also, the tablet manufacturer should do something about charging the battery. It charges rather poorly from USB, in addition, the power consumption of the screen and wireless modules is high. With an average brightness level, GPS and Wi-Fi turned on, the quad-core Techno 7.85 3G connected to the computer via USB cable did not have time to replenish the battery.

Games on bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G

bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G is quite suitable for games, not everything on them, as they say, flies, but also does not annoy with constant freezes. Strong good man.

 • Riptide GP2: excellent, no slowdowns, everything flies, though it lowers the color depth to 16 bits
 • Dead Trigger: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture is not smooth
 • Dead Trigger 2: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture is not smooth
 • Real Racing 3: satisfactory, playable, but sometimes slows down
 • Shadowgun: Dead Zone: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture gets uneven
 • Frontline Commando: Normandy: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture is not smooth
 • Eternity Warriors 2: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture gets uneven
 • Minecraft: great, no lags, everything flies
 • Trial Xtreme 3: great, no stuttering, everything flies
 • Dead Effect: good, works fast, but sometimes the picture is not smooth
 • Plants vs Zombies 2: great, no stuttering, everything flies

In general, the tablet works well in games. Most of the ratings are excellent and good. True, sometimes bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G gets an excellent rating due to a little scam, for example, it lowers the color depth, like Riptide GP2, but not everyone can notice this right away. As is typical for good players, the tablet sometimes has breakdowns - with some games, in our case Real Racing 3, it does not work without difficulty.

Software

Techno 7.85 3G runs Android 4.2.2. The fresh operating system pleases with a number of improvements, which, however, we have already written about. Therefore, we will not dwell on the interface in detail.

Let's just note that the work on the screen with an aspect ratio of 4: 3 is no different from the more common among Android tablets.

However, the quick settings control panel has become very convenient. It is separated from the notification bar and is called up by a gesture in the upper right of the display. Large buttons make it easy to activate or deactivate desired functions. To call the notification panel, you need to make a gesture on the left side of the display.

The tablets are distinguished by the absence of non-standard software. True, it is difficult to say whether this is a disadvantage. In most cases, the preinstalled programs are not used.

However, Techno 7.85 3G would not hurt an office suite, and the Chrome browser would not be superfluous. But you can install all this yourself.

Techno 7.85 3G allows you to make voice calls. Of course, talking using such a device without a headset is not very convenient, and from the outside it looks ridiculous. Nevertheless, we can notice that the earpiece is quite loud, the call quality is good. The tablet supports all the functionality of mobile communications, including sending messages.

The interface of the phone is quite convenient and it is even more convenient to use it on such a large display than on a smartphone. For our part, we cannot fail to note the convenient buttons

call control: the conversation can be paused, and you can also start recording the conversation with one click.

Of the third-party software, only Navitel Navigator is installed on Techno 7.85 3G. First, the user needs to activate the program. He can choose a one-month trial period or buy the full software right away. There are no maps included in the package. They must be downloaded from the Navitel server and paid separately. As we said above, the map of Russia takes up more than a gigabyte, so you should immediately install an additional memory card.

The Navitel Navigator interface is very convenient on such a large screen, however, in order to use the tablet's functions, you will have to return to the home screen - gestures for calling the notification panel are not supported. However, the GPS module can be turned on directly from the Navitel Navigator. Its power button is located at the top of the screen. Some functions, settings and additional services are also placed there: chats, weather, mute, battery level, etc. etc.

The program supports traffic jam service. The user can be not only a consumer, but also create it himself. A special button calls up a form for reporting an accident. Of course, all this only works with a constant connection to the mobile Internet.

Conclusion

bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G is a pretty good iPad mini clone. It should be noted a good screen, developed functionality, and of course, a good design.

The white version with a quad-core processor has higher performance, not in all tasks. Therefore, it cannot be said that he is definitely faster than his black brother. Interestingly, there is practically no difference in power consumption between the tablets. The choice between the two options is difficult to make, so we advise you to be guided, among other things, by aesthetics.

Of course, the tablets are not without budget drawbacks, for example, the cameras leave much to be desired, and the assembly is a little disappointing - the buttons were constantly trying to fall out.

In short, another good budget tablet for your money.

Price

You can buy bb-mobile Techno 7.85 3G with a dual-core processor for 6500 rubles. The quad-core version will cost 7,000 rubles.

Our competitor in tests can be purchased for 3990 rubles, but the minus is less memory and a worse screen, plus the battery life and support for two SIM-cards.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is very similar in specifications, but lacks the 3G module. But this is not a clone, but a fairly new model of a well-known brand. Its average price is 7185 rubles.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 ME173X can offer 16 GB of internal memory, a screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a 4-core processor, but without a 3G module for an average of 6,000 rubles. But it doesn't look like iPad mini.

Explay sQuad 7.82 3G is practically a twin brother. This is also an iPad mini clone. For about the same average 7185 rubles as the Techno 7.85 3G, you can get a 4-core processor, but with a lower frequency, 16 GB of internal memory, the same screen and a lower resolution camera. But there is a 3G module here. There is also another copy for the same money - Fly Connect 7.85 3G Slim.

As you can see, this market segment is saturated with offers. If you do not need a mobile communication module, then for the same money you can take a more famous brand with similar characteristics. Cheaper tablets still have worse data, but the difference is not so critical. Finally, you can look for another iPad mini clone, but it will cost about the same.

Pros:

 • good performance, including in games;
 • good display;
 • light weight and thickness;
 • good autonomy;
 • availability of 3G, including voice communication;
 • good equipment;
 • affordable price.

Minuses:

 • bad cameras;
 • lack of additional software;
 • not the best build quality;
 • not the best ergonomics.

The day before yesterday Sergey Zorin zorins brought from China three samples of new products of Chinese tablet-making. They were in my hands for a week.

At the beginning of this year, tablets with the new Allwinner A31 processor began to be sold in Chinese online stores (http://www.thg.ru/technews/20121211_091641.html). The quad-core processor with eight-core graphics runs at 1 GHz. I was one of the first in Russia who got hold of a tablet on this processor.

The A31 processor allows you to make fast tablets with high-resolution screens. This tablet has a 9.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The same screen is on the iPad 3 and iPad 4. The matrix is IPS, so the picture is almost perfect.

This is a production prototype, so it doesn't have a name and model yet. The Android version has the D901 model. I photographed the tablet from all sides, perhaps you will recognize in it one of the models that are starting to appear on sale. According to unconfirmed information, the tablet was made at the factory where Hyundai and Ployer MOMO are made.

Tablet specifications:

9.7 "screen, 2048x1536, 4: 3, IPS, capacitive touchscreen, 10 points.
Processor: Allwinner A31 1 GHz, Cortex-A7, four cores.
Video adapter: Power VR SGX 544MP2, 8 cores.
RAM - 2 GB, application memory - 2 GB, internal storage: 11.6 GB.
Cameras: rear 5 Mp with autofocus, front: 0.3 Mp.
GPS, Bluetooth, 3G are missing.
Operating system: Android 4.1.1.
Size: 239x186x9.95 mm, weight 608 g.

At the front of the tablet is a front-facing camera, and below it is a blue LED showing the charging process.
On the back there is a camera window, two speaker slots and a hole in which a serial sample will most likely have a flash LED.

On the right side there is a charging connector (the tablet does not charge from USB), a headphone jack and a microphone.

MicroSD card slot and MicroUSB (aka OTG) and MiniHDMI connectors are located under the cover.

There are only three buttons - power on and volume rocker. The power button is located inconveniently - every time you have to look for it. On another tablet model, this button is located on the corner - it's much more convenient.

Android device information.

Information in AnTuTu and Quadrant tests.

AnTuTu 3 performance test result.

Performance test result Quadrant Pro 2.1.1.

With active use (tests, internet, games), a full battery charge lasted 2 hours and 37 minutes.

Most likely, in quiet Internet browsing mode, the tablet will last about 4 hours, in movie viewing mode it is possible twice as long.
upd .: With power consumption and battery, everything turned out to be worse than I expected: charging time 6 hours, watching a movie (brightness 50%, airplane mode) - 3 hours 16 minutes.

The tablet has Google Play, but he often says that the programs are not compatible with the device.

Moreover, if you install programs from apk files, they usually work. I installed Angry Birds Rio, Bad Pigies HD, Hill Climb Rider, Plants vs. Zombies, Talking Tom 2, Zombirds. All of them worked quickly and well, only Zombirds (which, by the way, is installed from Google Play) crashed if you pressed the start button too early. But Ski Safari refused to work. At launch, there was such a mess on the screen.

By simultaneously pressing the power and volume down buttons, a screenshot is taken, which greatly simplifies the life of the researcher.

Of course, the Retina display is great. The fonts look very crisp. Despite the fact that the tablet did not perform well in synthetic tests, it works quickly and comfortably.

During the evening that I devoted to communicating with the tablet, I did not find any significant shortcomings in it (apart from the toy that had not started up) and the tablet left a very good impression. Now tablets with a retina and an A31 processor are already on sale in Chinese online stores at a price of $ 220-270.

The first place in terms of popularity among mobile devices is taken by tablets. They are very convenient for watching movies, surfing the Internet or playing games both at home and on the go. And for all this, first of all, the matrix is, of course, important.

For this reason, we have compiled a detailed rating of tablets with a good screen, which included both modern models in 2019-2020 and older devices with excellent characteristics. From the TOP 7, you will learn not only which tablet has the best screen, but also what to choose for entertainment and even comfortable work.

Apple iPad 32 GB Wi-Fi

The American brand Apple constantly sets the tone for the modern IT industry. The devices created by the manufacturer retain their relevance for many years, which is why both little-known companies and market leaders try to copy them. If you need a tablet with a high-quality screen, then finding something more attractive than the Apple iPad is very difficult. A high-quality 9.7-inch matrix with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels provides excellent color reproduction, a wide range of brightness levels, and excellent hardware. The manufacturer installed a proprietary processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 built-in memory in this tablet with a good display. At the same time, the operating system of Apple and applications in the brand store are perfectly optimized for the power of the device, which ensures their smooth and uninterrupted operation.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 m3 4 GB 128 GB

The Microsoft model is the most expensive in our ranking, but it is also the only one that is 100% suitable for full-fledged work. An excellent sensor and a multifunctional stylus pen make this device an excellent choice for graphic designers, artists, architects and other professionals. In terms of parameters, the Surface Pro 4 tablet bypasses most of the existing solutions on the market. It has an Intel Core m3 processor with a Skylake family of graphics, 2 cores of which operate at 900 MHz, as well as 4 GB of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. Such a bundle is more than enough for the comfortable operation of the Windows 10 system preinstalled on this device and all the applications the user needs. From the reviews about the tablet, we can conclude that the manufacturer managed to create an excellent model for both office and office work, and for entertainment purposes.

Advantages:

 • Perfect Matrix
 • Better performance
 • Full Windows 10 Pro
 • Loud stereo speakers
 • Battery life
 • Built-in storage

Disadvantages:

Huawei MediaPad M3 8.4 32 GB LTE

Huawei does not hesitate to “bend its own line” in every product it makes. Even the design of their tablet with a good screen and battery, dubbed the MediaPad M3 8.4, is different from most products on the market. At the same time, the famous Chinese brand installs its own Kirin processors in its devices, which allows for excellent optimization of the shell. But its appearance and convenience will not please every user. In the reviews of the tablet, special attention is paid to its 8.4-inch matrix. Its 2560x1600 resolution is not the most impressive, but it is more than enough for comfortable work, games and movies. In addition, this allowed the device to provide very good autonomy.

Advantages:

 • Weight and dimensions
 • Battery life
 • Matrix quality
 • Shell optimization
 • Performance
 • Own style
 • High-quality assembly
 • Best price

Disadvantages:

 • You need to get used to the branded shell
 • Takes a long time to charge

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 SM-T719 LTE 32 GB

You can always buy a cheap tablet with a Full HD screen within 15,000 rubles, or you can add just a little money and get a really chic device from Samsung. The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 has a beautiful 8-inch matrix with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, a modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 8 cores running at 1800 MHz, as well as 3 GB of RAM and 32 internal memory. At the same time, the device is distinguished by very good optimization, thanks to which a 4000 mAh battery lasts for 9 hours of an active screen. Another bonus of this inexpensive tablet with a good screen is the presence of a SIM card slot and a full-fledged phone module.

Advantages:

 • Display quality
 • Support for LTE networks
 • Battery life
 • Design and build
 • Lightweight and minimal thickness
 • Latest OS version - Android 6.0

Disadvantages:

 • Not available for their price

ASUS ZenPad 10 Z500KL 32 GB

ZenPad 10 marked Z500KL is a slightly improved version of the old "ten" from ASUS. There are not many changes in the new product, and mainly they relate to the installation of an improved Snapdragon 650 processor, which has 8 cores of 1800 MHz each, as well as the addition of an LTE module to the device. Overall, if you want a tablet with a good 10-inch screen and great features, then the ASUS ZenPad 10 Z500KL is perfect for you.

Thanks to a good central chip, Adreno 510 graphics and 4 gigabytes of RAM, the device perfectly copes with any task, including modern games. Stereo speakers please with high-quality sound, but their location is extremely inconvenient, and the volume is not always enough. This nuance, the presence of branded software unnecessary to many, as well as the absence of a fingerprint scanner and button illumination did not allow the updated ASUS ZenPad 10 to receive the title of a tablet with the best value for money.

Advantages:

 • Performance and speed
 • Matrix quality
 • Autonomy
 • Good sound
 • Excellent reliable build
 • Nice design
 • Body materials
 • Decent cameras

Disadvantages:

 • ASUS Apps
 • No fingerprint scanner
 • Speaker location
 • No key illumination under the screen

Xiaomi MiPad 2 64 GB

Xiaomi's second generation MiPads are great devices at a reasonable cost. The price of the model in question with 64 gigabytes of built-in storage is in the range of 10,000-12,000 rubles. This popular Chinese tablet runs Android 5.1, but it can be upgraded to the sixth without any problems. For the hardware of the Xiaomi MiPad 2, the Intel Atom x5 processor is responsible, 4 cores of which operate at a frequency of 2.2 GHz. The RAM in the device is 2 GB, and this is not enough in this case due to not very good shell optimization. But with its bright screen for reading and watching movies, the tablet bypasses many competitors. Firstly, the resolution of 2048x1536 pixels for a 7.9-inch matrix makes the pixels completely invisible, and the picture is simply gorgeous. Secondly, in the sun, the screen of a tablet from Xiaomi always remains readable due to a high margin of brightness.

Advantages:

 • Hardware component
 • Device autonomy
 • Case design and materials
 • Display quality
 • Style and sophistication

Disadvantages:

 • Software component

Digma Plane 7.6 3G

If you need a budget tablet with a bright display and a full-fledged telephone module, then the choice will be unambiguous - Plane 7.6 from Digma. This 7-inch model is perfect for those users who do not need anything other than chatting with friends on social networks and visiting their favorite sites from a device of this class.

Among all the representatives of our rating in terms of characteristics and price, the Digma Plane 7.6 tablet is the most simple solution... It has a 4-core chip from MediaTek, clocked at 2 GHz, only 1 gigabyte of RAM and 8 built-in storage. To install SIM cards, the manufacturer has provided 2 slots at once, which is a very big plus of the device. But the lack of the ability to install a memory card in this model is definitely a drawback. A battery of only 2800 mAh is also not enough for prolonged active use of Digma Plane 7.6, especially considering the screen resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

Advantages:

 • Very low cost
 • Availability of 3G and a pair of SIM slots
 • Good processor
 • Smooth operation when browsing the Internet
 • Complete telephone module

Disadvantages:

 • Battery capacity
 • Outdated Android version
 • Built-in storage
 • Lack of slot for memory cards

Conclusion

Our TOP 7 best tablets with a good screen include not only models from leading brands, but also great solutions from Chinese manufacturers. Among the participants in the rating there are solutions for every taste and wallet that can provide excellent entertainment opportunities. This gorgeous 7 tablet PC is the best for 2017, as evidenced not only by numerous reviews, but also by reviews from real users.

Perhaps it would be more correct to start reviewing an Android tablet with a Retina screen with reflections that until recently we were sure that a screen with such a high resolution can only be found in very expensive iPads and new laptops Macbook Pro, and we certainly could not imagine that it would not be long before affordable devices equipped with a unique Retina display would appear on the market. But all this is very predictable and unoriginal. In my opinion, it is more important to talk about the fact that budget models of tablets have ceased to be in the role of catching up. Technologically, they are not only not inferior, but even somewhat superior to tablet models from first-tier manufacturers. In this sense, the emergence of an Android tablet with a Retina display that allows a different look at image quality is a great example.

Before I start reviewing the capabilities of the new tablet, I want to say a few words about the features of the new generation screen, which will allow us to make an assumption about the advantages and possible disadvantages of using a Retina screen in modern Android tablets.

The difference between a regular IPS screen and a Retina screen is easy to spot. Just open photos or look at the quality of displaying text and illustrations on Web pages and e-books, and you will never want to switch to a screen with a lower resolution.

Retina display is the brightest display with an ultra-high resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. If the developers used the physical screen resolution in the interface of their applications, the image would be so small that it would be impossible to make out at least something. Therefore, developers use the interpolation mode, when one image point is formed from several pixels. As a result, text and images start to look completely different from the usual IPS screen. Rather, the image becomes like a high quality print. For this reason, with the advent of this screen, we began to talk not so much about the resolution as about the image scale and pixel density. The higher the density, the higher the quality of the interpolated image.

The screen used in NetTAB Space III is identical to the screen in the third and fourth generation iPad. It has a density of 264 pixels per inch (PPI), which is comparable to high quality typographic printing. If you compare the quality with a regular IPS screen, you will notice the absence of even a barely noticeable grain. The following photographs clearly demonstrate the superiority of the Retina screen over a conventional IPS screen with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

Regular IPS screen with 132ppi pixel density

Retina display with 264 ppi pixel density

The advantage of the Retina screen is not only the quality of the display of text. A high resolution allows you to increase the desktop space and improve the quality of the display of videos and photos, which appear sharper with well-defined halftones and gradients.

Despite the advantage of a high-resolution screen, one cannot fail to mention the high performance requirements. If the performance of the processor and graphics core is not high enough, there is a high probability that the user interface and applications will slow down. Besides, don't forget about energy consumption. Increased CPU utilization can result in decreased battery life. Below we will talk in more detail about the performance and battery life of NetTAB Space III, but for now we will take a closer look at the packaging and design features of the new tablet.

First look at iconBIT NetTAB Space III

Externally, the tablet does not look like either the first or the second Space. It is made in a one-piece aluminum case with beveled edges, but that's not the most interesting thing. According to the specification, the case is only 9.2mm thick. It is thinner than the third and fourth generation iPad. The tablet also weighs two grams less than the new iPad, at just 650 grams. It is no coincidence that I compare NetTAB Space III to the iPad, which can be called a benchmark in terms of ergonomics. In this sense, the new NetTAB Space III was no worse.

On the upper edge of the case there are volume and return buttons. The power button is located on the right. There is also a slot for a MicroSD memory card (cards up to 32GB are supported), connectors for connecting an external power supply and headphones, a built-in microphone, as well as a USB port for connecting to a computer and external devices... Unlike previous models, the NetTAB Space III uses two stereo speakers located on the right and left sides of the cabinet. This arrangement has one interesting feature. Holding the tablet in his hands, the user creates something like a horn from the palms, amplifying the sound from two miniature speakers. If you need to quickly lower the volume, just press your palms harder.

iconBIT NetTAB Space III is equipped with two 2-megapixel cameras. The quality of both cameras is quite sufficient for use for video communication in Skype. As for the quality of photo and video shooting, here both cameras fully correspond to the quality of cameras used in budget models of tablets.

For ease of use, NetTAB Space III is supplied with a case made of artificial leather. The case features high quality workmanship and a comfortable cover, the design of which allows it to be used as a stand. The design of the case provides easy access to all connectors and ports on the tablet body.

In addition to a convenient case, the NetTAB Space III set includes a mains charger, a USB adapter for connecting external devices, a USB cable for connecting to a computer, and headphones.

Let's take a look inside ...

I am familiar with the hardware of NetTAB Space III. If you do not take into account new screen Retina, the rest of the hardware used in the new tablet is almost identical to the second generation of NetTAB Space and fully complies with NetTAB THOR. It is based on the high-performance Rockchip 3066 processor. This processor includes two ARM Cortex ™ -A9 MPCore ™ cores running at 1.6GHz and four Mali-400 MP4 graphics cores. The processor frequency changes depending on the load. At minimum load, the frequency drops to 252MHz, extending the battery life. As the load increases, the frequency rises to a maximum of 1.6 GHz.

The tablet is equipped with 1GB fast DDR3 RAM and 16GB Flash memory. Communication capabilities of the tablet include support for Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n with a maximum transfer rate of up to 150MBits and Bluetooth 2.1. 3G modem is not provided in this model. You can support mobile Internet using any 3G USB modem, but it's more convenient to use.

The built-in battery has a capacity of 10,000 mAh. This is the most capacious battery in this class of devices. It is important to note that an external 12V power source is used to charge the battery, which significantly reduces the charging time of a high-capacity battery.

Real possibilities of iconBIT NetTAB Space III

NetTAB Space III runs Android 4.1. I did not find anything special in this Android assembly. The set of software, typical for iconBIT, is supported, there is a Play Market and other standard applications. The settings menu includes a standard set of parameters. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the ability to select a screen mode.

The default is Normal. In this mode, the screen resolution is reduced to 1600x1200 pixels. In theory, this mode can be interesting not only from the point of view of higher performance and lower power consumption, but also better compatibility with some software. HD mode uses the maximum screen resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Looking ahead, I note that I did not notice any problems with the compatibility of the applications I use in HD mode. As for performance and battery life, there is of course a difference. To assess the performance of the tablet, I use the AnTuTu test, version 3.0.3. The tests were carried out in two screen modes.

The results show a slight decrease in tablet performance in HD mode. In this case, in Normal mode, the performance of the tablet is almost identical to the performance of the NetTAB Space II and NetTAB THOR tablets. For additional clarity, I added the results obtained for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablets. As you can see, the performance of the top-end Galaxy Note 10.1 is slightly higher than the NetTAB Space III, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has half the performance.

A detailed study of the AnTuTu test results allows us to conclude that the main reason for the decrease in performance in HD mode is the GPU, which needs to process four times more information than a regular IPS screen. I wonder how much performance degradation will negatively affect real-world applications? I use my traditional set of applications that allow me to assess the real potential of an Android device to a certain extent.

First of all, let's look at the video playback capabilities. Here I am interested in the possibilities of playing video from local media, as well as streaming video from network media and over the Internet.

When playing video from a local source and from a network drive, I use MX Player Pro. Enabling hardware decoding allows you to easily cope with video in FullHD resolution. Moreover, the tablet plays video, both from a local media and over the network, using a Wi-Fi connection for this. When you enable software decoding of a video stream, the processor is only enough to play video in FullHD quality from a local media. Over the network, the tablet normally only copes with video in standard definition. It's quite normal. I have only seen one Android device capable of handling FullHD software decoding over the network. This is a Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone with its fully quad-core processor.

As for the online services IVI.RU and Google Films, they all need to be adapted to fit a high-resolution screen, because these services are not able to take advantage of high resolution by stretching a rather small picture onto a large screen. But this cannot be considered a disadvantage of the tablet. This is a software flaw that needs to be optimized to run on such a high resolution screen.

KARTINA.TV is a very important service for me, providing access to more than a hundred television channels via the Internet. This service is interesting not only for the large number of channels, but also for the support of a two-week archive of programs for almost all channels, a large number of channels in FullHD quality, its own movie channels and a large video library. To use the service, you need a Kartina TV Tablet client and a player that supports playing a network stream. I am using MX Player.

A rather curious situation emerged here. I noticed that MX Player stably plays only SD channels and only in software mode. The program crashes when entering hardware decoding mode. The only way to watch channels in HD quality is to select the “Hardware +” decoding mode. The situation is incomprehensible to me. Previously, the normal hardware decoding mode worked without problems. After several days of thinking and experimenting with various Android platforms, I noticed that the situation repeats on various platforms, including the Samsung Galaxy Note II, where the hardware decoding mode works with noticeable lags. The only platform on which everything works without problems is the AMLogic 8726 M6 used in the NetTAB Matrix II tablet, and several older models of tablets with a single-core AMLogic M3 processor and Allwinner A10. So the problem is not in the tablet, but in the MX Player, which cannot properly process the KARTINA.TV stream on the Rockchip platform. The same can be said about other software players pre-installed in NetTAB Space III.

Now it's time to start the games. I use a few old hits like GTA III and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, and a couple of new games like Need For Speed Most Wanted and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. GTA III and Need For Speed Most Wanted are installed directly from the Google Market, but with the games Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour you have to cheat a little. There are no particular problems here, but some knowledge is needed to install them. I'm not going to tell here about all the secrets of installing games on an Android tablet. Instead, I advise you to read the following threads on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum, where you will find answers to numerous questions that may arise when installing these games on iconBIT NetTAB Space III:

I don't like all these tricky ways, and I think that paying a couple of hundred rubles for such a toy is not a problem. On the contrary, I want to make my own contribution so that the developers delight us with new, even more interesting toys. However, until this strange problem with checking tablet compatibility in Google Market is resolved, we will be forced to look for alternative ways to install the software. For fans of Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, I'll give you a useful link to version 1.1.3, which includes the universal cache. This version is guaranteed to work on NetTAB Space III.

The hardware content of NetTAB Space III has sufficient performance to get a large FPS even in such complex games. Especially in Normal mode. In HD mode, the frame rate remains at a fairly high level, although occasional slowdowns are possible. More importantly, some games may not be fully usable on the Retina display. For example, GTA III works great in HD mode, but in Normal mode, part of the interface is off-screen, and it becomes impossible to control the game. The following video demonstrates the possibilities of using the tablet as a gaming platform.

The last question I am interested in is the advantage of large screen resolutions in traditional tablet applications. At the moment, most applications do not take advantage of the large screen resolution. Especially when it comes to HD mode.

NetTAB Space III (1600x1200)

I tried many applications and I can say that in almost all applications the area of the application window turns out to be the same as in the resolution of 1024x768. The only plus of this mode is the better display quality of text and images.

Surprisingly, the real benefit of higher resolution can be obtained in Normal mode. Why this happens, I do not know, but in some applications, such as Google Docs, the advantage is visible to the naked eye.

Although most applications cannot take advantage of the large Retina display resolution, I cannot help but note that there are still a small number of programs that already allow you to take advantage of this advantage. Yandex.Navigator is one such rare application.

Battery life

To study the battery life of the tablet, I used the advanced video viewing scenario. The measurements were carried out in both screen modes with maximum brightness and 20% brightness. All measurements were taken with Wi-Fi turned on. Taking into account the peculiarities of the KARTINA.TV service, the measurements were carried out using hardware and software decoding.

When set to maximum brightness, a single battery charge lasts more than 5 hours of continuous HD video playback and about 5 hours using a software decoder. Very interesting results are obtained with 20% brightness setting. At home, this is quite enough for comfortable viewing, while it is possible to increase the battery life to 9 hours 30 minutes in Normal mode and up to 8 hours in HD mode. If you want to extend the battery life, it is better to use the Normal mode. You will not feel the difference in the quality of the picture, but you will get an extra 30-90 minutes. When using software decode, battery life differs slightly between HD and Normal modes.

Conclusion

So, it's time to take stock and talk about the pros and cons of iconBIT NetTAB Space III. In terms of design, the new tablet didn't surprise me. The design and construction of NetTAB Space III is well known to me from some previous tablet models. The only thing that I want to note is the location of all connectors and ports, providing a comfortable grip on the tablet, and two stereo speakers. Compared to the previous generation models, they allow you to get a better and more interesting sound.

By far the most exciting thing about NetTAB Space III is its Retina display, which redefined image quality on Android tablets. The quality of the text and illustrations is really impressive. As I said above, having tried a Retina screen once, you hardly want to switch to a regular IPS screen. It is worth remembering, however, that few applications can benefit from the high resolution yet. A similar situation was during the release of the third generation iPad. At that time, there were practically no applications adapted for Retina, therefore, it was possible to evaluate the capabilities of the new screen only in a browser and a photo viewer. The situation has changed for the better over time, and today all applications are released with support for the Retina display resolution. It is difficult to say how quickly software updates for Android will appear. It all depends on how quickly first-tier manufacturers move to the Retina display, but so far they are in no rush.

Above, I noted that the large screen resolution imposes serious requirements on the hardware stuffing of the tablet. In this sense, NetTAB Space III was at its best. Thanks to its Rockchip 3066 dual-core processor with four Mali-400 cores and fast DDR3 memory, the tablet coped with all the tasks assigned to it without any problems. I was particularly surprised by the ability to run the latest graphics-heavy games. On the one hand, some of these games work fine on less productive platforms, but on the other hand, there was a possibility that at such a high resolution I would face serious lags. But, NetTAB Space III easily coped with the role of a game console. Speaking about the features of the hardware, I cannot but thank the developers for installing 16GB of RAM. Recently, I got hooked on games and I can say that 8GB in previous models is clearly not enough for me.

In addition to high performance, a tablet with a Retina display should have a long battery life. It is worth noting here the use of one of the most capacious batteries with a capacity of 10,000 mAh. With a smart approach to spending energy, such a large battery allows you to use the tablet without recharging all day long. As my tests show, in the continuous video playback mode in HD mode with the screen brightness set to 100%, a single charge lasts almost 6 hours. This means that you can watch two full-length films in super quality on one charge.

The last question is price. According to Yandex.Market data, today NetTAB Space III can be purchased for 10,500 - 11,000 rubles. In my opinion, the price for a device with “doped” firmware for us and, which is very important, with our guarantee, is more than reasonable. For the sake of curiosity, I looked at what the Chinese counterpart, bought here and directly with an order from China, would cost? On average, everything I could find could be bought from hands for 12,000 rubles. At the same time, there is no question of any guarantee. What can be ordered here, but with delivery from China, will cost about 500 - 600 rubles less than NetTAB Space III. And in this case, talks about a guarantee are kind of murky. In the best case, you will have to wait two to three weeks to send there, some time will be spent on replacement or repair, and another two to three weeks for the way back. And finally, the last option, order yourself. In this case, you can save about 1,000 rubles. But in this case, everything is not clear with the guarantee, and the probability of getting something that is not quite what you expect is quite high. For example, in the basic configuration, tablets from China are sold without covers, while the NetTAB SPACE III comes with a cover and good headphones.
