Such systems do not have a good stereo panorama, but as a portable option for summer cottages, outings in nature or parties in the open air, such devices are perfect, which is also taken into account by designers, "sharpening" monoblocks for just such an application.

Playback capabilities by the standards of the late 2010s, they should mean at least audio playback via Bluetooth and from USB media: these methods are the most convenient, but if DVD playback is provided, then this is absolutely excellent. For high-end models, not only full integration with Apple technology has become the norm, but also functionality at the receiver level: connection to a local network, optical inputs, and so on. As a matter of fact, the class of music centers itself is increasingly turning from an independent set into a set of "receiver + speakers".

But what is definitely not worth chasing is for watts: ambiguous numbers are meaningless both when measured by RMS (you can definitely listen to music with 10% nonlinear distortion in the sound), and with the sensitivity of the speakers on inexpensive technology: where a cheap speaker will have to "burn" under 40 W of electric power, good acoustics the same volume will give at 10 watts.
