What will happen to Navi? NAVI leaves World of Tanks

On June 30, 2017, the esports organization Natus Vincere G2A announced that it had decided to close the World of Tanks division, which had been operating since July 4, 2013.

Before signing a contract with Na"Vi, the team was called RUSH, and even then this team was considered one of the strongest. During the Na"Vi team's performance in World of Tanks, 25 gold medals were won, including: WGL 2016 Season 1, The Grand Finals 2016, WGL 2015 Season 2, WGL 2015 Season 1, WGL 2014 Season III, Mianyang City Cup, WGL 2014 Season I, WGL Grand Final, WGL Season III, Techlabs Cup BY 2013 Grand Final, WGL Season II, NVIDIA GeForce eSports $100K Open and others.

The management of the Natus Vincere G2A organization notes that during all this time, while the team played in World of Tanks, the World of Tanks esports infrastructure never received proper development: the number of tournaments and prize money remained at the same level. Other large organizations have come and gone to World of Tanks. For example, Virtus.pro, Fnatic, PENTA Sports, mousesports, Hellraisers and others left World of Tanks.

Evgeny Zolotarev, CEO of Natus Vincere:

Sometimes, in order to move forward, you have to make controversial decisions: today we say goodbye to the World of Tanks discipline. Over these four years, the tankers became an integral part of our club and maintained the performance level at the highest level. Perhaps this composition can be called the most stable in the entire history of the organization. However, despite the efforts and successes of the guys, the esports component of WoT has not moved from the point where it was in 2013. I understand perfectly well that the game is very successful commercially and Wargaming is apparently satisfied with the current state of affairs, but we cannot work in a discipline in which there are only 4 tournaments a year and there is no support from the publisher.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the team players for their dedication and contribution to the development of the Natus Vincere project. You are true professionals with whom it has always been a pleasure to work. I really hope you continue to play together. GL&HF!

Dmitry “de1uxe” Repin, team manager:

Four years as a member of Na`Vi were unforgettable: we won a lot and learned a lot. I want to say a special thank you to Alexander« ZeroGravity» Kokhanovsky, Igor« caff» Sidorenko and Oleg« prb» Bulavko for your trust, patience and contribution to our team. Also a huge thank you to all our fans - you are the best!

Dmitry "LeBwa" Palashchenko:

Our team has been performing under the flags of the Na`Vi organization for more than three years. It was a good time. I remember how happy all the guys on the team were when we signed the contract. There were negotiations with other organizations, but everyone wanted to play for Na`Vi. I would like to express my gratitude for the support over such a long period; I can say that we did not need anything. The reasons for the organization’s departure from tank eSports are clear: it’s no secret that it’s lame on both legs. I wish Na`Vi further development and success in other disciplines.

Natus Vincere G2A roster for World of Tanks:

    Dmitry "LeBwa" Palashchenko

    Oleg "Straik" Romanenkov

    Maxim "Inspirer" Mazein

    Kirill "Kirilloid" Ponomarev

    Anatoly "TheAnatolich" Barakov

    Dmitry "SL1DE" Frishman

    Andrey "Rhino" Les

    Dmitry "de1uxe" Repin (manager)

The Na"Vi World of Tanks roster learned that the organization would not renew the contract with them even before The Grand Finals 2017, which took place at the end of May. Under what name the ex-Na"Vi will perform is currently unknown.

– The Natus Vincere G2A organization regrets to announce the closure of the World of Tanks division, which has been operating since July 4, 2013.

Already at the time of signing contracts with our future tankers, who previously played under the RUSH tag, they were rightfully considered the most titled players in the world, and with the transition to Natus Vincere they only strengthened their positions. Our tank squad has 25 gold medals won at competitions StarLadder, WGL: Golden League, TechLabs and many others, as well as more than $800,000 in prize money.

However, over all these years, the eSports infrastructure of World of Tanks has not received proper development: the number of tournaments and prize money remained at the same level, and large organizations one after another closed their WoT divisions. For example, such giants as Virtus.pro, Fnatic, PENTA Sports, mousesports, Hellraisers and others left the discipline.

I would like to express my gratitude to our players for their dedication and enormous contribution to the development of the Natus Vincere project. We hope that they will continue their esports career and add dozens more monoliths to their collection of trophies.
