Kwangju South Korea. Cities of South Korea

Kwangju South Korea. Cities of South Korea

11.05.2021

Kwangju - the sixth largest city in South Korea, about 1,500,000 people live in it. Located in the south of the Korean Peninsula. The city is completely not tourist - in 10 days I met very few foreigners.

How do travels are usually started? Probably, from arrival / arrival / sailing :) and from the settlement to the hotel / hostel / tent. So I will start in order. From Seoul to Kwangju I had to get on the train. It was suitable for me, I wanted to get acquainted with Korean railways. But, at the very last moment, the plans have changed and had to go by car (I will tell about my trips around the country in the next post). In the city we drove somehow unexpectedly - rushed from Highwei and after 10 minutes arrived at the hotel.

Our hotel (Mudeung Park Hotel) turned out to be a rather massive building of a strange architecture, standing between the green mountains on the outskirts of the city.

In the city of Kwangju, South Korea

The huge parking was almost empty, and on weekends it is scored by cars - the hotel is popular with Koreans.

The side entrance you meet here such Jazzman and Jazzwoman.

The hotel is named after Mudeung Mountain, which is in relative proximity (about it in the next part).

As for me, the place for the hotel is very successful. Quiet, near the mountains with a large number of labeled walking routes and a chair cable car on one of the vertices. Two steps - an indoor green grid for a golf cort (the second, after baseball, the game in the country in the country) - the great set in the Korean cities. And the center can be reached or on foot (40 minutes) or by bus / taxi.

The hotel has 110 rooms, 35 of them in Korean style, i.e. With a mattress on the floor, and 75 of the European type. My "Standard Room with a Double Bed" arranged in everything: All amenities (with bathroom), air conditioning, television (which I do not need), wired internet. The window is visible on the forest on the mountainside. The hotel has a restaurant and several banquet halls, there, if necessary, is suitable for a great buffet with a Korean bias.

And from the corridor window, such a view of the city was opened.

In the morning we decided that after lunch, we might slowly walk through the surrounding peaks.

And before that, it was necessary to have a breakfast and go to the city. With breakfast, it turned out a bit wrong, as we calculated. In the evening, during the festive burden of dinner on the occasion of our arrival, it was agreed to meet at 9 am at one of the institutions of the Korean catering, which around the hotel a great set. But having come to the meeting place, we discovered tightly closed doors. Attempts to get to other institutions were also not crowned with success - everywhere I was met by the castle and the ongoing cats that were burning in the sun. Whether it was still very early, or there was no longer the season, but everything was closed! I had to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and so I wanted to eat cheap real Korean food. This time I could not save :(

By the way, Koreans love to eat all sorts of seafood dishes and are trying to feed all their guest-foreigners. I am quite neutral, most of all, oddly enough, I liked the soup from any ripan shells. All these seashells were ridiculously told about a spoon, claws and shells of crabs flooded in a neighborhood. But the taste of dishes was wonderful!

A little time left for the first timing to the city and, grabbing the camera, I went to look for the nearest supermarket and at the same time get acquainted with the surroundings of the hotel.

At first it was necessary to pass by numerous restaurants.

And dive under Highway, the one on which we arrived from Seoul.

On the way, such a church came across, "cozy," the most faced bridge. Funny Tavtology turned out :)

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

By the way, in Seoul, I was struck by a large number of churches with crosses. These most crosses were conquered on sharp spiers, on the strange design of iron towers. The main religions in Korea are two - Buddhism and Christianity. Christianity gradually displaces traditional Buddhism, from here and a huge number of Christian churches. But Buddhism and Christianity received a pretty share of Confucianism and, even, shamanism. That's such a cocktail turned out. And those who do not belong to any religious denomination in Korea 50 percent.

There were such sculptures.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

And this Christian church, apparently, captured the followers of another faith. Alien, probably :)

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

These are different buildings. The spire of the church looks out for one of the worldwide network "Angel In-US Coffee". Funny neighborhood.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

By the way, coffee is very loved by Koreans. Coffee shops are found everywhere, from the international Starbucks and Angel in-US Coffee to local, in roadside eateries. After dinner, Korean almost always drinks coffee. And prepare it everywhere very well!

Typical Korean street. Immediately draws attention to almost the absence of signs in English.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

It is quite clean on the streets and it's hard to find a garbage urn. In addition, I did not notice such a number of jangers as, for example, in China. And the garbage in the morning is exhibited directly on the pavement and will be taken by special machines.

On the way I go through how it is called, the private sector.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

There are dogs in Korea. They, despite the problem, did not eat all. In fact, most Koreans never tried a doggy. It is fashionable to keep small dogs. The owners paint them in motley colors and dress up in funny clothes.

This cute dog is guarded by a construction store.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

Crossing a wide avenue and immediately fall on a multicolored walking path. Left - bicycle, and on the right - pedestrian. I pass on it a few meters, I am surprised at the new sensations, squat and touch the surface - the path for pedestrians is with a soft coating! Immediately remembered the old party slogan of Soviet times: "Everything for a person, all in the name of a person!". This is the concern for people!

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

On the other side notice the staircase into the sky. That's where she is!

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

Fold from the track to the right and immediately I get into the one-story quarter. He recalled me something of Beijing Hutunas.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

I love to shoot tiled roofs. They are different in Korea: and green, and brown. But now there are increasingly blue, metal.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

Later, I photographed this area from above. It is almost all already built up with modern cottages.

// igor-salnikov.livejournal.com

On the way back, I went to several small supermarkets. There is also "7-Eleven", and "Family Mart", and a couple of local Korean.

During the next days there were several more hiking and trips to the city center, on the embankment of the river and in new quarters.

Korea with eyes Kazakhstanis: expensive electricity, mandatory insurance and small apartments

Diana Sagieva, 41 years old, hometown - Karaganda

About life

I was born in Karaganda, then I moved to Almaty, where I met a future husband. For a while we lived in Almaty, and in 2014 they decided that her husband had time to return to the historic homeland. For the first time I came to Korea in 2003. From October 2014, we live in South Korea, in the city of Kwangju.

In Almaty, a mild climate compared to the Korea, so the husband warned me in advance that it is necessary to take a thin and light lingerie in Korea, clothes. When we arrived, everything was fine at the airport, but as soon as we came out, the feeling arose as if I got into the sauna or in the steam room. It is stuffy, it's hot, it's hard to breathe and the skin is instantly covered later, which keeps the weight of the day with a sticky film on the skin and does not dry. The humidity is so high that the sweat does not have time to evaporate. It is possible to survive at such a time in rooms where there are air conditioners.

About the city

We live in the city of Kwangju, Cheollanamdo Province - 광주, helocated in four hours drive from Seoul. Seoul directly subordinate six cities, including Kwangju, one of the largest cities. A half million people live here on official data, and about 30,000 of them are foreigners.

Korea in composition was a mononational country up to the beginning of the 2000s, when 99% of the population was a title nation.

In Seoul in the early 2000s, people were accustomed to tourists, foreigners, in Kwangju - no. When in 2003 I spoke with my husband in Russian on the streets, then passersby looked at us with deep surprise, turning around.

The place that I like is shield (시내) - a city shopping center, where many boutiques and cafes, entertainment centers. There are organized concerts in the evenings, this is a popular place to meet the beloved.

In Mudninsan National Park there are many tourist routes and can be excellent.South Korea -Gust-plated country, so there are no places where you can retire. That is why in the parks you feel in full security, and CCTV cameras everywhere, so in Korea is really safe. In addition, all the parks and public places are very comfortable, many cute benches and free restrooms.

Arriving in Korea, it is not necessary to know the Korean language, because all the signs and pointers are duplicated in English.

It's convenient to live in Korea

It is convenient to live in Korea. At each stop there is a scoreboard, which shows the time of arrival of buses, and the buses themselves are equipped with modems, which allows you to distribute the Wi-Fi passengers and monitor the arrival time of the route at a specific stop.

About taxes

In Korea, like us, there is income tax and pension deductions.When a person gets a visa and arrives in the country of morning freshness, all of its data is entered into a single database. Therefore, in any city you are not, you can always easily get any help.

About medicine

State insurance in Korea is necessarily for all citizens.Also our citizens who came to work according to a legal visa can issue an insurance policy. There are still voluntary insurance in private firms, in addition to the state. Terms of private companies are better, but also to deductions above. In our family, five people and about $ 400 per month takes only insurance deductions. Insurance is necessary, because in case of its absence, the treatment of the treatment can be very large.

In our family five people and about $ 400 per month takes only insurance deductions

The ambulance is paid, the challenge costs about $ 100, so Koreans prefer to get to the hospital independently. But the quality of medicine in South Korea is high, diagnostic services are especially famous.

About housing

Up until the 70s of the 20th century, Korea was an agrarian country, high-rise apartment buildings were rare and apartments there could not buy everything. Now, more prestigious is considered to live in their home, because the land issue is sharp, the population density in Korea is one of the highest in the world. Accordingly, and housing in Korea, in comparison with Kazakhstani, very small.

In Kwangju, remove a one-room apartment for 300-500 dollars. And the smaller the city, the cheaper the rental housing. There is such a type of lease when you can rent housing for a long time.In this case, the deposit is returned.

LCD Highvill Something reminds at home in Korea

Each apartment building has security, cleaning of the territory and entrances. We live just in such a house. Each housing complex has a store, and a hairdresser, everything is near. LCD Highvill Something reminds at home in Korea.

About housing and communal services

In Korea, expensive electricity, gas and water. If you save, then in the month we have about 100 dollars in the summer. In winter, we turn on the boiler, so it goes about 300 dollars.

About food

Korean carrots eaten only in Kazakhstan.There is no such dish in South Korea.

The food here is acute, pork is dominated from meat, and the beef is expensive. In the first days I bought meat on the nearest stores and went out 20 dollars for 600 grams of beef. Then I found cheaper shops.

In South Korea, the eating of dogs gradually comes off - it began from the 80s, when on the eve of the Society Olympics for the Protection of Animal Rights, practically expelled dog traders from the main ul iC. Currently, only in some specialized restaurants you can order dishes from a dog, but, according to forecasts, and these restaurants will soon disappear. For three years of life in Korea, no one offered me to eat dog meat, which I am very glad.

In Korea, a wide selection of seafood. Food in Korea is lighter, because they have a wet climate. I learned to cook soup from sea cabbage.Such soups strengthen immunity and help keep the figure.

On food in Korea, you can save well, because there is just an abundance of Street Fud! Not only during lunch, but in general during the day everywhere in the streets you can try something interesting, seafood or traditional Korean dishes from rice, soups, and snacks will be attached to the soup. For three to five dollars, it is possible to seem to the dump.

In Korea, the curricity of the cafe will not be its interior, but the taste and quality of the dishes served.The pathetic decoration of the institutions rather talks about the high cost of the dishes, because the owner needs to be disconnected by the restaurant invested in the finish. The Koreans are simple, the food must be not only tasty, but also not to beat on the wallet. However, expensive restaurants are in demand from the highest sections of society.

For tourists, I would advise you to visit the Lotteria eateries network owned by a huge Lotte corporation. Try 불고기 부거 [Burger Pulggugs] Beef Hamburger, for my taste it is better than any burger from McDonalds. However, the tastes do not argue, and you may like something unusual, for example, the larvae of the silkworm, which are sold at every step.

About purchases

Korea is the leader in Asia for the production of cosmetics.Two cosmetic giants who are leading on the market - AmorePacific and LG are known far beyond the country. These brands are focused on the Asian skin type.

In Korea Excellent clothing quality

In Korea, excellent quality of clothes, aboutit does not lose color, does not hurt over the years.Excellent value for money and quality. If you buy things not in supermarkets, but in small boutiques, you can ask for discounts.

About the education system

We worried about the older daughter, because she did not know the language of arrival and, in addition, graduated from three classes of schools in Kazakhstan. But instead of the expected stress about the language barrier and the change of training program, we received simply cultural shock. The first surprise was the beginning of the school year, because in Korea, children do not learn from September, and since March we lost time. The second, but the love of Koreans to beautiful children became a pleasant shock. Our daughter thanks to the mixture of different blood turned out to be a beauty suitable for Korean standards, so she received only a good attitude from classmates. We also worried about her adaptation to a completely different training program and here we got another upheaval - because in Korean schools the system is built on promotion. Teachers do not look for mistakes in the works, but pay attention to the pros, that is, they do not scold for mistakes, but indicate what else you need to work, and in the end, you still pay across the desire and effort. The daughter with great pleasure began to go to school.

In Korea, the initial, middle and older schools are divided and are located in separate buildings, each on its territory. In total, training takes 12 years.

About people

I was struck by the courtesy of Koreans.When I first came to Korea, then I promised four hours at the customs: the border guards called the future mother-in-law and asked if she was really waiting for the bride from Kazakhstan. When in Kazakhstan you check documents or a conversation with representatives of the authorities, you always feel uncertain, because you will be thrown with a gloomy look. And in Korea, representatives of different services are friendly and smiling, so that these four hours at the customs did not leave me psychological stress. In general, many Koreans are often smiling, do not interrupt, do not rude. According to the quality of communication, you understand that this is a completely different world, and Korea is a country where you really want to come.

By name in Korea, people are practically not called, the exception is made only for the One-Year Friends

Korea is respectful about the elders.Even if you are older than the interlocutor for just a year, you will handle you with great reverence. Therefore, when you meet the Koreans begin to find out the age and position of the person. By the name in Korea, people are practically not called, the exception is made only for the One-Year Friends. If you are a girl and get acquainted with Korean older than you, then you will call it only 언니 "Elder Sister" and nothing else. Spouses respectfully names each other by the name of the younger child. In general, a lot resembles ancient Kazakh customs.

For Koreans and Southeast Asia, in general, Kazakhstan is Europe, the European state,ohva that our girls can more openly show their feelings, and in general, young people communicate with the older generation freer than Koreans. In my presentation, Korea is a country where you need to constantly bow and agree when you speak with the elders. Here it is necessary to succumb and express agreement with all that the elders say.

The realities of Kazakh aules in terms of relationships between the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law with the mother-in-law are largely similar to the realities of Korean life. But among those Kazakhs, who, like me, married the southern Koreans, are those who have found mutual understanding and respect from new parents.
