By default, Windows 10 comes with a Store app that lets you buy and install additional programs. Deleting the Store will result in you losing access to new programs, so you need to restore it or install it again.

Installing the Store for Windows 10

There are several ways to return a deleted “Store”. If you erased it without getting rid of the WindowsApps folder, you can most likely restore it. But if the folder was deleted or restoration does not work, then installing the “Store” from scratch will suit you. Before you start returning it, grant permissions to your account.

What to do if you couldn’t return the “Store”

If neither restoring nor reinstalling the Store helped to get it back, then there is only one option left - download the Windows 10 installer, run it and choose not to reinstall the system, but to update. After the update is completed, all built-in programs will be restored, including the Store, and the user’s files will remain unharmed.

Select the “Update this PC” method

Make sure that the Windows 10 installer updates the system to the same version and bitness that is currently installed on your computer.

Is it possible to install "Store" on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB

Enterprise LTSB is a version of the operating system designed for a network of computers in companies and business organizations, in which the main emphasis is on minimalism and stability. Therefore, it lacks most of the standard Microsoft programs, including the Store. You cannot install it using standard methods; you can find installation archives on the Internet, but not all of them are safe or at least working, so use them at your own peril and risk. If you have the opportunity to upgrade to any other version of Windows 10, then do so to get the "Store" in the official way.

Installing programs from the “Store”

In order to install a program from the store, just open it, log in to your Microsoft account, select the desired application from the list or using the search bar and click on the “Get” button. If your computer supports the selected application, the button will be active. For some applications you will have to pay first.

You need to click the “Get” button to install the application from the “Store”

All applications installed from the Store will be located in the WindowsApps subfolder, located in the Program Files folder on the main partition of the hard drive. How to gain access to edit and change this folder is described above in the article.

How to use the Store without installing it

It is not necessary to restore the “Store” as an application on your computer, since it can be used through any modern browser by going to the official Microsoft website. The browser version of the “Store” is no different from the original one - in it you can also select, install and buy an application after logging in to your Microsoft account.

You can use the store through any browser

After removing the system “Store” from your computer, you can restore it or install it again. If these options do not work, then there are two options: update the system using the installation image or start using the browser version of the Store, available on the official Microsoft website. The only version of Windows 10 that you cannot install Store on is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB.
