One way to maintain anonymity when communicating on Skype or another voice messenger is to distort your voice. You can change your voice in several ways, including very primitive ones, which, however, should not be done, because there are special programs for these purposes. I want to bring to your attention one of these programs in this short review. It's called MorphVOX Pro.
Voice changer program
MorphVOX Pro is a powerful, professional voice changer that works with most VoIP applications. The program works with Skype, AIM, Yahoo, MSN, GoogleTalk and many others. This modulator has an impressive range of tools for changing and fine-tuning your voice. At the same time, the program is convenient and easy to use.
The capabilities of MorphVOX Pro are truly impressive. The application supports setting timbre and tonality, using numerous audio effects, external plugins designed to expand capabilities, playing background noise, recording voices and saving them to an MP3 file, and much more. But its most important advantage is the creation of a virtual microphone in the system that automatically intercepts all signals from the physical microphone.
In theory, there should be no problems with the compatibility of MorphVOX Pro with other applications. The program intercepts the sound entering the microphone, processes it, and only then transmits it to other applications.
Setting up MorphVOX Pro
The first thing to do after installing the modulator is to go to settings and install the microphone for the incoming sound. To do this, click the “Preference” icon located in the upper left corner, in the window that opens, switch to “Device Setting” and select the input and output audio device. We do not touch the remaining settings. At this stage, the preliminary settings can be considered complete.
By default, MorphVOX Pro uses the Child template - a child's voice. There are six such templates in total - Child, Dog Translator, Men, Woman, I Robot and Hell Demon. You can select a template in the Voice Selection panel. The selected filter is turned on and off by pressing the Morph button. Located in the middle part of the desktop, the Tweak Voice panel contains tools for fine-tuning your voice. Just below is the Sound panel, containing audio effects and background music. On the right side of the window there are two more panels, Graphic Equalizer and Voice Effects. The first of them is a regular ten-band equalizer, the second is a library of sound effects. Well, that’s all about the MorphVOX Pro voice settings. If you wish and have free time, you can delve into the interface and settings of the program, I’m sure you will find a bunch of other useful features.
Additional templates, as well as sound effects and background tracks, can be downloaded from the developer's website. The only thing left to do is to “connect” the program to Skype or another voice messenger. This is done in the sound settings of the connected application. For example, in Skype, to do this you need to go to the sound settings and select the modulator virtual microphone instead of the standard microphone.
