Gaming laptops up to 100,000 rubles. Laptop for working with video

11.10.2023

Quite recently, an article “” was published on our website. In it, I told you about the most inexpensive laptops, which will nevertheless allow you to play modern computer games in Full HD resolution, at least with medium graphics quality settings enabled. We found out that such devices have a huge number of compromises and cannot boast of any safety margin, but you still have to pay an average of 50-60 thousand rubles for them. Well, this time I present to your attention a selection of more expensive gaming laptops. In such devices you can find graphics at the level of GeForce GTX 1060 and even GeForce RTX 2060. With models of this level, you can safely play all modern PC games in Full HD resolution. Almost…

What to look for when buying a laptop

I complained that choosing an inexpensive gaming laptop is not so easy. Basically, I had to choose among 40-50 models that are very similar to each other. If we limit the budget to the range of 60-100 thousand rubles, then we will have to choose among hundreds of models. So, on one popular site I weeded out GeForce GTX 1650, GeForce GTX 1060, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and GeForce RTX 2060 laptops - and saw 121 models for sale. On the one hand, this is good, because the richer the choice, the higher the chance of choosing what suits you best. On the other hand, a large selection creates a big headache. You will have to read reviews, look for reviews on the Internet, consult with friends and on forums - believe me, not everyone likes to immerse themselves in the world of computer technology. This is where our article will help you.

I have never hidden the fact that when choosing a laptop for gaming, I always focus on three parameters: performance in these very games, the efficiency of the cooling system (no overheating of the main components) and the ability to independently upgrade storage devices. All. The remaining characteristics of the device, to be honest, are the last thing I’m interested in. Of course, it’s great when your gaming laptop has a small weight, thin frames around the screen, and the display itself is “candy” with the highest vertical scanning frequency and minimal response time. It's nice when the backlighting of each key on a laptop can be adjusted individually. It’s cool when your new mobile computer immediately has an ultra-fast, large-capacity SSD installed. But all this, believe me, fades into the background if suddenly on the beautiful, beautiful screen of your brand new laptop you do not see a comfortable FPS level in your favorite game. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the processor and graphics in modern mobile PCs.

Illustrative examples are shown in the screenshot from the store above. So, for about the same money you can buy a laptop with GeForce GTX 1660 T graphics or a GeForce GTX 1060. In the first case, the laptop uses a 4-core processor, in the second - a 6-core processor. But we are taking a laptop for gaming, and therefore it is better to invest in a more powerful video card. And it seems that I have now written the most obvious thing, but I constantly meet people who think differently. I will definitely consider the issue of FPS dependence on the selected CPU further.

In general, let's take a look at what modern gaming laptops are capable of.

⇡ Graphics

Naturally, in any laptop that claims to be a “gaming” one, it is necessary to start from the graphics processor. Having 60-100 thousand rubles with you, you can buy a mobile PC in which the following chips will be soldered: GeForce MX150 (250), GeForce GTX 1050 (Ti), GeForce GTX 1650, GeForce GTX 1060 (Max-Q), GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and even GeForce RTX 2060, although 99% of laptops with such graphics cost more than 100,000 rubles at the time of writing (but I still found one model).

That a “game book” costing up to 60,000 rubles is a tool for playing games mainly with medium graphics quality settings enabled. Now I want to go up a notch and, so to speak, aim for high graphics quality settings. Therefore, if you have the indicated amount of money, let’s still focus on the following GPUs:

  • GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB - entry level;
  • GeForce GTX 1060 (Max-Q) - only with 6 GB!
  • GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (Max-Q) - an analogue of the desktop GeForce GTX 1070, but with 6 GB VRAM;
  • GeForce RTX 2060 (Max-Q) is slightly faster than the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, but this video card supports ray tracing in hardware.

Unfortunately, I still can’t get my hands on a laptop with a GeForce GTX 1650, but an article “” was published on our website, so everything is more or less clear with the TU117 graphics processor.

Below are the results of testing several systems. A 6-core Core i7-8750H and 16 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM were used throughout. Thus, focusing on the laptop market, we minimized the impact of other system components on FPS in games.

System performance in games was determined using the well-known MSI Afterburner program. The graphs show not only the average FPS, but also the 99th percentile. The use of the 99th percentile instead of the minimum number of frames per second indicators is due to the desire to clear the results from random bursts of performance that were provoked by reasons not directly related to the operation of the main components of the platform.

Well, with the advent of mobile versions of GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, we see that gaming laptops costing up to 100,000 rubles have become noticeably more productive in games. Let's take a system with a GPU based on the TU116 chip. When using the maximum graphics quality (or close to this criterion), in seven games out of eleven, a relatively comfortable FPS is observed, exceeding 30 frames per second. When the graphics quality is reduced to the “High” setting, the game becomes noticeably more comfortable in all 11 cases, which is quite expected.

And yet, let's not forget that we are dealing with mobile graphics equipped with only 6 GB of video memory. Perhaps the 99th percentile does not reflect this point clearly, but a lack of VRAM is observed in four games out of 11 when it comes to settings close to maximum - these are Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 5, Watch Dogs 2 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. In these programs, despite a good average FPS, you will still have to reduce the quality of the graphics: remove anti-aliasing somewhere, reduce the quality of textures and shadows somewhere.

This point is discussed in more detail in the article “”. Alas, it is already clear that a gaming laptop costing 60-100 thousand rubles does not have a serious reserve for the future. There are a decent number of games that don't need 6GB of VRAM. It is important to be aware of this fact when buying a laptop, because we will not be able to replace the GPU in it over time.

⇡ CPU and cooling

I stated: " The effect of processor dependence on inexpensive laptops is observed in a very small number of games. Therefore, there is no need to overpay for a faster CPU if we are talking exclusively about computer games" We were talking about laptops that use GeForce GTX 1650-level graphics. If we have 100,000 rubles, we will have enough even for a system with a mobile version of the GeForce RTX 2060. Naturally, with a GPU of this level in Full HD resolution, the effect of processor dependence can be observed. But let’s find out how critical it will be.

But first, let’s look at the model range. If we stick to our criteria, we may come across laptops with the following CPUs:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3550H, 4 cores and 8 threads, 2.1 (3.7) GHz, 35 W;
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3750H, 4 cores and 8 threads, 2.3 (4.0) GHz, 35 W;
  • Intel Core i5-7300HQ, 4 cores, 2.5 (3.5) GHz, 45 W;
  • Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 4 cores and 8 threads, 2.8 (3.8) GHz, 45 W;
  • Intel Core i5-8300H, 4 cores and 8 threads, 2.3 (4.0) GHz, 45 W;
  • Intel Core i5-9300H, 4 cores and 8 threads, 2.4 (4.1) GHz, 45 W;
  • Intel Core i7-8750H, 6 cores and 12 threads, 2.2 (4.1) GHz, 45 W;
  • Intel Core i7-9750H, 6 cores and 12 threads, 2.6 (4.5) GHz, 45 W.

As you can see, we have a lot to choose from. The Core i5-9300H and Core i7-9750H models are improved versions of Coffee Lake chips, now belonging to the ninth generation of Core. They operate at higher frequencies and also have more third-level cache (relevant for the Core i7 series). Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there were very, very few laptops with such chips on sale, but I think the situation will change for the better in the next couple of months. On the other hand, it is obvious that in games the difference between the Core i5-8300H and Core i5-9300H (and between the Core i7-8750H and Core i7-9750H) will be minimal, if any.

In any laptop, the declared frequencies are just the nameplate value of the computer component. In practice, the laptop cooling system may not provide the same CPU with the ability to operate at the frequencies declared by the manufacturer. Throttling, unfortunately, has not yet been canceled.

In fact, it is very important to buy a laptop that will not overheat when playing games. Many models use a common cooling system, when two or three heat pipes are in contact simultaneously with both the central and graphic processors. In games, a laptop with such a cooler experiences maximum load, since both chips are loaded at 100%. In the second part of the article, we will present models in which we are absolutely sure of the efficiency of the cooling system. Just a warning: you are unlikely to find a quiet laptop among them. A quiet gaming laptop is generally a very rare phenomenon. It’s most comfortable to play on a laptop with headphones, in my opinion.

In this regard, choosing a laptop with a less powerful central processor looks like an even more rational decision.

Let's find out the effect of CPU dependence of the following three systems. GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics and 16 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM are used throughout. In the first and second cases, 4-core chips were used, in the third - a 6-core Core i7-8750H.

I'll be brief: a system with a Core i7-7850H outperforms computers with a Core i5-8300H and Ryzen 7 3750H by an average of 3 and 19% (average FPS) when using maximum graphics quality settings and by 8 and 33% when the “High Quality” mode is enabled. , as well as disabling anti-aliasing in some cases. As you can see, the effect of processor dependence in games is observed, but in the case of Intel chips, I would not call it critical. Therefore, instead of the Core i7-7850H, you can easily take a laptop, for example, with a Core i5-8300H. But Ryzen 7 is noticeably behind its competitors. If the system had used faster RAM, the results would have been more impressive. On the other hand, it’s not my fault that laptops with Ryzen chips are equipped with DDR4-2400 and DDR4-2666 RAM, but there are simply no alternative options.

⇡ Storage devices

It’s hard to believe, but in 2019, with a budget of 100,000 rubles, they will still try to sell you a laptop with 8 GB of RAM. At the very beginning, I wrote about 121 models that fit our criteria. So, most of them have 8 GB of RAM installed by default, which also operates in single-channel mode. And nothing can be done about it.

Even more - in the second part we will look at several good, in my opinion, models, which, unfortunately, only have 8 GB of RAM installed. The same laptop with a similar configuration, but with 16 GB of RAM costs 8, and sometimes 10 thousand rubles more. At the same time, a DDR4-2666 memory module of the SO-DIMM form factor with a capacity of 8 GB is sold for an average of 2,500 rubles. Obviously, it is more profitable to take a laptop with 8 GB of RAM and immediately buy the missing memory. True, in some cases, opening the laptop will lead to loss of warranty, which, however, is usually given for only 1 year.

Meanwhile, software system requirements are growing. Testing was carried out using the Windows 10 operating system. I noticed that installing build 1903 noticeably increases RAM consumption. Thus, a clean system with running game services (Steam, Origin, Uplay, Epic Store) and monitoring programs already “eats” 3.2 GB of RAM. The same Witcher 3 began to access the swap file when using 8 GB of RAM on the computer - previously this amount of memory was enough for a comfortable game.

Below in the graphs we compared two systems equipped with the same components, but with different amounts of RAM. The result, what to hide, turned out to be deplorable. Even if the game has enough 8 GB of memory, the FPS is still lower - the operation of the RAM in single-channel mode affects it.

The result is simple: any computer that claims to be a gaming computer must have at least 16 GB of RAM installed. And yet, in the second part of the article, I will recommend laptops with 8 GB of RAM, but with one very important caveat: along with such a laptop, you must immediately buy another RAM module.

By the way, this is why it is very important that the laptop you buy is easy to disassemble. Yes, we will immediately increase the amount of RAM, but over time no one will stop you from carrying out another upgrade, taking, for example, a more capacious and productive SSD.

⇡ Display

And again in the article I will recommend laptops equipped exclusively with IPS matrices. Inexpensive laptops tend to use very cheap TN displays. Of course, you can live and play with such a screen, but it’s not necessary. IPS often has a higher brightness level, higher contrast, better viewing angles and more accurate color rendition. As a rule, the manufacturer indicates only the type of matrix in the specifications, and the quality of the screen can only be found out in reviews or upon personal acquaintance with the device. There are also some pitfalls - sometimes the same laptop model is equipped with matrices of the same type, but from different manufacturers. Therefore, choosing a laptop with a truly high-quality display is not always possible. Even the price of a laptop does not guarantee the presence of a truly high-quality matrix. Therefore, the ideal option would still be to go to the store and further independently study the quality of the picture of the future purchase.

I hope the recommendations given in the first part of the article will help you decide what components you want to see in your gaming laptop. The second part highlights the optimal and current, in my opinion, laptop models, sorted by price. For greater convenience, the tables indicate only the main characteristics of devices and costs (average prices for Yandex.Market are shown, region - Moscow).

The following companies that produce gaming laptops are represented on the Russian market: ASUS, Acer, Dell (aka Alienware), HP, Lenovo and MSI. As a rule, each company has several series of products based on a specific platform. The final price of a laptop is determined not only by the central processor and graphics, but also by the amount of RAM, as well as the presence of an SSD and the type of operating system. Yes, some laptops are sold either without an OS or with Linux pre-installed - this is noticeably cheaper. But no one will stop you from installing Windows 10 yourself, for example.

As I noted above, I am not at all interested in laptop models whose discrete graphics have less than 4 GB of video memory. That is why later in the article we will talk exclusively about devices equipped with mobile versions of GeForce GTX 1050 4 GB, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB and GeForce GTX 1080 8 GB.

We will start with perhaps the most difficult nomination. The fact is that it is very difficult to find a high-quality gaming laptop on sale for less than 60 thousand rubles. Such devices are a continuous set of compromises. In this case, the most important thing is to invest in a good video card and processor. Elements such as drives and RAM can always be replaced (expanded) yourself.

Gaming laptops costing up to 60,000 rubles are equipped with GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics. The performance of these devices is enough to play modern games in Full HD resolution, mainly using medium and high graphics quality settings.

Gaming laptops up to 60,000 rubles

15.6"", 1920 × 1080, TN HDD 1000 GB 41 Wh 55,000 rub.

The most gaming models with GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti mobile chips are on sale. That is why I conclude that such laptops are the most popular among gamers. However, having discarded the options with 2 GB graphics, we immediately limit ourselves in choice. As a result, this section covers only two models from Dell and MSI.

The Dell G3 3579 laptop attracts several features at once. Firstly, we are dealing with a device based on the latest Intel Coffee Lake platform. Consequently, the device can be used not only for games, but also for working with resource-intensive applications. Foreign tests show that the Dell G3 3579 uses a high-quality cooling system: the “Core i5-8300H + GeForce GTX 1050 4 GB” combination gets seriously hot only if you run the Prime95 and Furmark programs at the same time. In real conditions - in our favorite games - the CPU and GPU feel very comfortable.

Secondly, the Dell G3 3579 is already equipped with a 128 GB SSD. Consequently, the operating system and programs installed on the SSD will load very quickly.

Thirdly, this model uses a simple, but still IPS matrix. The laptop's display turns out to be noticeably better than cheap TN screens, which are usually used in budget gaming models.

Among the additional features, I note that the Dell G3 3579 is not very difficult to understand. Therefore, if possible, you can purchase and install another 8 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM in your laptop. This advice applies to all models with a similar amount of RAM.

Last year . The MSI GP62M 7REX-2092XRU World of Tanks Edition is built on the same chassis, but uses a more powerful graphics chip - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Naturally, this model will perform better in games than the Dell G3 3579, although the MSI laptop uses a less powerful 4-core Core i5-7300HQ central processor.

MSI GP62M 7REX-2092XRU World of Tanks Edition attracts not only its appearance, but also its well-thought-out cooling system. To some extent, this model really resembles a tank, since despite its rather brutal appearance, its “armor” (cooling) is strong - the laptop will not let you down at the most inopportune moment, it does not overheat and does not reset the processor and memory frequencies. Perhaps the only drawback of the tested version of the MSI GP62M 7RDX World of Tanks Edition is the use of a frankly poor TN matrix. The laptop is suitable for those who want to play modern games, but do not have high requirements for the picture.

The MSI GP62M 7RDX World of Tanks Edition has an excellent cooling system. In the very near future, I recommend not only purchasing 8 GB of RAM, but also installing an SSD in the laptop - the motherboard has an M.2 slot that supports the installation of 2280 format drives.

⇡ Interesting models from 60 to 80 thousand rubles

If you have 80,000 rubles, you can swing at buying a gaming system with a 6 GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060. The performance of such graphics is enough to comfortably play many AAA projects using high, very high and maximum graphics quality settings.

8 GB DDR4-2400, single channel

As a result, among the many models, in my opinion, Dell and Acer laptops look the most interesting in this price range.

Initially, I planned to add the ASUS TUF Gaming FX504GE-E4031 model to this category, which is equipped with a Core i5-8300H central processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 4 GB version of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. However, one fact confused me about this laptop: only one heat pipe is responsible for cooling the CPU. There is information on the Internet that the ASUS TUF Gaming FX504GE-E4031 throttles even in games. At the same time, we can add 2,000 rubles to our budget and purchase the Dell G5 5587 model - this gaming laptop does a little better with cooling. In addition, I am attracted by the fact that the body of this laptop is partially made of aluminum.

Otherwise, we have exactly the same configuration, which is based on a 4-core Coffee Lake and a 4 GB version of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

The bottom of the Dell G5 5587, by the way, is equipped with a hatch for quick access to drives and RAM. So we buy this laptop, and then install another 8 GB RAM module into it without any problems.

The second contender for purchase is also a Dell laptop. The Inspiron 7577 (7577-9584) model, by all indications, is assembled in the same case as the Dell G5 5587. In general, Inspirons are famous for their efficient cooling, although they operate quite loudly under load. At one time we tested the model, and this laptop had the only drawback - the TN matrix was of disgusting quality. However, since then, Dell has been using IPS screens in its laptops, even if they grab stars from the sky.

The most important thing about the Inspiron 7577 is the presence of GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB graphics in Max-Q design. So, we get a solution that is obviously faster than the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Well, 6 GB of GDDR5 memory will allow you to comfortably play all modern games in Full HD resolution for the next couple of years for sure.

In order to get to the components of the Inspiron 7577, you need to unscrew just one screw and remove the plastic cover on the bottom. Please note that in the table I am suggesting the 7577-9584 model with a 256 GB M.2 drive installed. If you wish, you can take the version of the Dell G5 5587 (G515-7381), which, in addition to the SSD, has a 1 TB hard drive installed. This model costs 3,000 rubles more.

For 78,000 rubles we can get a laptop with a full-fledged GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB graphics chip. Unfortunately, laptops with a Max-Q design version did not come to our testing laboratory. However, more successful colleagues report that the Acer Predator Helios 300 will be on average 10% faster than the average laptop with a GTX 1060 Max-Q.

Last year we published a review that used a Core i5-7300H processor and a GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB. There were no obvious shortcomings in this model. It used a loud, but effective cooling system - and as a result, the central processor and graphics of the device worked at the proper frequencies, without drawdowns or overheating. Playing with the Predator Helios 300 turned out to be quite comfortable. The keyboard is devoid of newfangled features, but it performs its functions well. The IPS matrix installed in the laptop is of fairly high quality, although the factory settings could be better. The Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-52-52FU model uses exactly the same platform, therefore, we can expect that this modification will also have all the listed advantages.

You've probably noticed that even in the category of gaming laptops for 60-80 thousand rubles, we are dealing with models that have 8 GB of RAM installed. This is also why I recommend buying laptops with easy access to replacement hardware. Still, a good “game book” should have 16 GB of RAM installed - don’t delay this matter after buying a laptop.

⇡ Interesting models from 80 to 100 thousand rubles

Just like a year ago, if you have 100,000 rubles with you, you still won’t be able to purchase a laptop with the mobile version of the GeForce GTX 1070. This category contains laptops exclusively with the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB.

Among the several available versions, my favorites were the Acer and MSI models. Moreover, the MSI GS43VR 7RE-202XRU Phantom Pro laptop can even be called exotic, since this device uses a 14-inch IPS matrix.

The most important thing is that the Phantom has everything in order with cooling the CPU and GPU - the cooler consists of two fans and five heat pipes. So such a system will undoubtedly cope with heat removal from the Core i5-7300H and GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB. As I already said, there is no need to be afraid of the quad-core Kaby Lake chip used in the laptop - this CPU will “pull out” the graphics level of the GeForce GTX 1060.

As a result, the Phantom weighs only 1.8 kg. In my opinion, MSI has made a good hiking option. With such a laptop you can go to lectures, to the dacha, and to visit friends for a LAN party.

If you need a laptop with a more modern chip, then the Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-51-58AX model looks most attractive in terms of price and performance - it uses a Core i5-8300H processor. I have already spoken in more detail about the 300th series of Helios.

⇡ Interesting models from 100 to 150 thousand rubles

By increasing the budget to a conditional 150,000 rubles, we get the opportunity to take a laptop with GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB graphics, 16 GB of RAM, a 128-256 GB SSD and a pre-installed operating system. The performance of such a laptop will last for a long time - you don’t have to think about an upgrade for the next two or three years.

16 GB DDR4-2400, two channels

With this guideline, I selected two not the most expensive (relative to analogues with similar hardware) models.

MSI GE73 8RF Raider RGB was released on our website quite recently. This laptop does a good job of cooling fairly hot components, and otherwise you have a fairly balanced system. So, the laptop uses a comfortable keyboard, excellent speakers and a high-quality 120 Hz matrix - and, oddly enough, it is TN. The only parting word before purchasing: try to find a model without glare at the edges of the screen.

Among the powerful laptops with a 15-inch screen, I would like to note the ASUS ROG SCAR II Edition GL504GS model. This laptop, by the way, uses a very high-quality AUO B156HAN08.2 IPS matrix with a scanning frequency of 144 Hz and a response of 3 ms. The display is calibrated perfectly, and personally I like it much more than the TN matrix used in the MSI GE73 8RF Raider RGB.

This laptop also has very thin frames! Compared to the previous generation model, the new product is 2.3 cm narrower - and this is noticeable to the naked eye.

Finally, the ROG SCAR II Edition GL504GS. In games, the laptop is noisy, but the frequencies of the main components are kept at a given level.

Laptops with the most powerful graphics - GeForce GTX 1080 - without exception, all cost more than 150,000 rubles. The choice, frankly speaking, is small. Therefore, there is only one model in the table below.

Interestingly, the ASUS ROG GL702VI-BA007T is based on a Core i7-7700K central processor. Apparently, this is why the laptop doesn’t cost that much compared to other models with a GeForce GTX 1080. In my opinion, we (for now) have an excellent chance to snatch the system with the most powerful GPU, since models with 6-core Coffee Lake are priced noticeably more.

Overall, the ASUS ROG GL702VI-BA007T looks like a very balanced system with the possibility of further upgrades. The cooling system, consisting of five heat pipes, does its job. I am well acquainted with such models as ASUS ROG CHIMERA G703VI and MSI GT75, and therefore I see no reason to overpay for “bells and whistles” of dubious usefulness. But it's up to you, dear readers.

If a model with a Kaby Lake generation processor scares you off for some reason, then I suggest taking a closer look at the MSI GT63 8RG-001RU Titan (9S7-16L411-001) - this 15-inch laptop uses a 6-core Core i7-chip 8750H.

⇡ Conclusions

The laptops presented above are not the only optimal gaming models in their class. In addition, one or another modification simply may not be available for sale in a store in your city. That is why the article devotes so much time to considering the numerous nuances that you will definitely encounter when choosing a laptop. I hope our recommendations will help you buy a really good device. Good luck with your choice!

If you are thinking about purchasing a good, productive laptop that will allow you to perform all the necessary tasks quickly and efficiently, then most likely you are unlikely to look towards budget devices. Of course, you should understand that with this calculation, when paying attention to middle-class and higher models, you will most likely encounter a higher cost. This means that in this aspect you risk spending a lot of money.

However, if the material side of the issue does not bother you much or you are aware of what exactly you plan to give your money for, then naturally proceed directly to the choice, which is determined by a wide range of products with a wide variety of technical indicators. Naturally, the final cost always determines the combination of components in a laptop, but often they are selected in such a way as to interact with each other as favorably as possible, providing high efficiency.

In case you don’t want to spend a lot of time searching for the right laptop model that suits your requirements, we have created this list, which includes seven new products on the computer market that are the best in the designated price range, providing very satisfactory performance indicators and overall functionality. quality.

7th place: ASUS K501UQ

Starting our list, as usual, with more affordable options, we meet the model ASUS K501UQ, which is essentially a fairly budget option, especially compared to all the others, which opens this top. However, despite the affordable price, this laptop can boast not only decent performance for such a price, but also the overall high quality of both individual components and the entire device as a whole. No wonder the company ASUS occupies one of the highest positions in this market.

Since we are talking about the quality of components, it is worth listing a little the more outstanding ones, which can definitely be attributed to the advantages of the model. And, perhaps, you can start with the standard size of a 15.6-inch display, which has received Full HD resolution and is ready to provide users with high-quality and colorful images. The second, no less significant part of the graphical component of this laptop is the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX discrete video card with 2 GB of video memory, which will allow it to show better performance in graphically complex situations.

As for direct performance, a dual-core Intel Core i3 processor with a frequency of 2.3 GHz is responsible for it. And even though it is the most budget-friendly in this line, it still copes with its tasks well. The only small drawback of this configuration may be the RAM, the volume of which is 4 GB. Although this is enough for adequate and fast operation of the system, if there are several resource-intensive programs running simultaneously, the laptop’s multitasking may suffer.

Naturally, there is no optical drive here, and the hard disk capacity of the HDD is 500 GB, which will be quite enough to store various types of information and other media files. The approximate weight of the laptop is 2 kilograms and with its more or less standard dimensions it is very convenient to transport. As for the vaunted low cost, at the moment it is about 37,250 rubles, being very optimal for the stated parameters.

6th place: DELL INSPIRON 5378

Moving further we are greeted by a model that is more interesting in every sense DELL INSPIRON 5378, one of the advantages of which is the presence of a wider display angle, turning the hardware half of the device into a kind of stand, as is customary among transformable laptops. This solution will be very convenient if you want to watch something, especially if you don’t have to use the keyboard at this time, and ventilation in this case (especially if you place the laptop on a soft surface like a bed) will work more efficiently.

Speaking about the fact that this laptop seems much more interesting than the previous one, it is clear that first of all we were talking about hardware. And here he really offers a very good combination. For example, the display diagonal is only 13.3 inches, which seems not so much, but at the same time it has a high Full HD resolution and a high-quality TFT IPS matrix with wide viewing angles. In addition, the screen is also touch-sensitive, which, with the device in the position described above, can eliminate the need for a keyboard in principle. And the beauty, in this case, lies not only in the high quality of the display itself, but also in the overall, relatively small size of the laptop.

The hardware platform of this model is represented by a 2-core Intel Core i5 chipset of the latest generation, with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, working together with 8 GB of RAM in a specific modification. Considering that these indicators represent an already excellent basis, the amount of RAM, if desired, can be increased up to 16 GB. Unfortunately, there is no discrete video card here, but the HDD capacity is 1 TB, which will be more than enough. The price for this is also quite optimal and on average is 42,130 rubles.

5th place: DELL LATITUDE 3470

Continuing to move down the list, we come across a laptop DELL LATITUDE 3470, who is the next representative of a well-known American company, no less interesting for our top. And the first thing that catches your eye, of course, is the laptop display, which in this case has a slightly wider diagonal of 14 inches, but with the same high-quality Full HD resolution, which leaves a pleasant impression.

The hard drive also remains at a very high capacity of 1 TB, which will allow you to store many “heavy” media files in the laptop’s memory, be it movies, games or music libraries of your favorite artists. As for RAM, this modification also has 8 GB, but thanks to the presence of a second slot, this figure can be doubled, providing as much as 16 GB for the system to operate, which in our time is sometimes even more than needed.

As for the processor, in this case it is the same Intel Core i5, but of the previous generation, which can be seen not only by the number, but also by the operating frequency, which is 2.3 GHz for two cores. And yet, despite this, this chip provides very good performance and copes with all the tasks. And in terms of cost, this model has gone barely a little further from its predecessor, and at the moment, on average, it is about 47,534 rubles, which is quite acceptable, given the general combination of technical parameters.

4th place: Acer ASPIRE E5

While analyzing budget models, we have already encountered a technically weaker modification of this laptop. However, the presence of different versions implies the existence of not only a budget, but also a more advanced version of the same model, which in this case was Acer ASPIRE E5-575G-58YB. In terms of appearance, it shares the form factor and ergonomics of its younger version, but in terms of characteristics, it is, of course, much more interesting.

And yet, most users are interested in good performance and multitasking of the purchased device, and the latest generation Intel Core i5 (Kaby Lake) chipset is designed to provide it, at a slightly more affordable cost than more powerful analogues. The 8 GB of RAM present on board helps it effectively cope with all tasks, however, if necessary, they can be increased up to 32 GB, which will already be at the level of a gaming device.

Among the pleasant additional features, we can note the presence of a disk drive, and among all the connectors and ports you can also find the new USB Type-C, which is gaining great popularity among smartphones, which sooner or later will have to be somehow connected to computers. As for the price, for this modification it is approximately 49,989 rubles average.

3rd place: Lenovo Legion Y520

One of the well-known Chinese companies providing interesting offers in various markets of mobile and computer equipment is Lenovo. And, having once started with laptops, they continue to develop rapidly in this segment and delight users with all kinds of high-tech solutions. One of these, opening the top three of this rating list, was the model Lenovo Legion Y520, offering a modern, sometimes even futuristic gaming design and excellent technical performance.

And while the body of the device indeed remains quite attractive and ergonomic, what interests us most is the technical parameters of this device, which can confidently be called one of the best in terms of performance for its cost, which today averages 59,990 rubles. And after you get acquainted with the components in a little more detail, you will understand that this price is even more than optimal.

Just how much does a processor cost? It would seem that, well, Intel Core i5, yes, but this is a quad-core version of the latest chipset from Intel, operating at a frequency of 2.5 GHz. Even those 8 GB of RAM that are on board are enough to unlock most of the potential of this hardware platform. Naturally, if you suddenly want to increase the volume of the latter, you can easily do this, up to 16 GB. And if you also like to play games, then the presence of a discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 in this model should simply delight you.

2nd place: MSI PE60 6QE

Naturally, the top best laptops in a higher price segment could not do without one of the best companies on this scene offering powerful and productive products, namely MSI with your model MSI PE60 6QE. And here, too, everything is very, very good in terms of the technical component. For example, the Intel Core i5 6300HQ chipset operates at 2.3 GHz with its 4-core structure, however, as we have already seen, even being a representative of the previous generation, it provides quite satisfactory results.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2 GB video card will also please most fans of passing the time in their favorite toy, since paired with a processor and 8 GB of RAM it is designed to provide a good gaming experience. Of course, as you might expect, for those for whom RAM is not enough, the laptop supports two sticks with a total capacity of up to 32 GB inclusive, so this part will definitely not be a problem.

The display received more than standard parameters, namely a 15.6-inch diagonal and Full HD resolution, and, as can be seen in this case, standard does not always mean insufficient. In this regard, everything is selected optimally. The interesting thing, again, is the presence of an optical drive and a reliable metal case, which makes the device more durable. But in terms of cost, this model is slightly ahead of its predecessor and, on average, can cost those interested in 65,840 rubles.

1st place: HP Envy 15

Well, the impeccable leader of this list is one of the most powerful modifications of the model from a time-tested manufacturer, namely HP Envy 15-as109ur, which received some of the most modern and best components. Among them, the first thing that deserves special attention is the screen of the device, which is not only touch-sensitive (and sometimes this is incredibly convenient), but also with a standard diagonal of 15.6 inches, it received 4K Ultra HD resolution, which leaves an incredible viewing experience. The only drawback in this configuration is the lack of a discrete video card.

However, the list of advantages of the laptop does not end there, and next in line is one of the best processors of the latest generation Intel Core i7 7560U (Kaby Lake-U), two active cores of which operate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. And if we take into account the presence of 12 GB of RAM on board, then in the end the potential laptop owner risks getting an excellent and very productive hardware platform.

And the last impressive advantage of this model is the total amount of internal memory of the laptop. It is common precisely because there are both HDD and SSD drives. And while the first, by tradition, received an excellent volume of 1 TB, which is enough for a huge amount of information, the second is optimally suited for the system partition, as a faster and more reliable option. And 256 GB of memory will clearly be enough for all system files and applications. Its price is also very appropriate, and barely goes beyond the top, averaging 83,275 rubles, for which you can purchase an excellent device.

Readers' Choice:

What laptop can you buy under 100,000 rubles? As before, we will focus on “empty” laptops, with the possibility of further upgrades (and the ability to stretch the budget), since even minimally “charged” laptops can cost much more than basic models.
At the moment, as in the article “laptop for 75,000 rubles”, we will focus on the new mobile six-core 8th generation Intel Core processors: Intel Core i7-8750H, Intel Core i7-8850H, and mobile chipset: Intel HM370 Express. This is a choice specifically for working with video, with little battery life. And a reasonable question immediately arises: if with the same processors you can buy a laptop for 75,000 rubles, then why overpay and take it for 100,000 rubles? What can we get by “overpaying”:
- More advanced cooling system for the six-core processor.
- Interfaces: USB 3.1 Gen2 and Thunderbolt 3. HDMI 2.0 video output with the ability to output 4K@60p video.
- Better screen.
- More advanced disk subsystem, i.e. additional M.2 PCIe NVMe slots, respectively, it will be possible to create a RAID array, levels 0 and 1.
- More powerful discrete graphics.
Laptop models are taken from real Russian retail and are given as an example of what you can choose for ~ 100,000 rubles, and what are the pros and cons of this choice (relative to video editing tasks).
